I don't have a very in depth view of the problem but basically, the car just recently started to lope at idle. you feel it sputtering and vibrating. It's a friend of mine's car and only has 30,000 miles on it believe it or not. Not exactly sure whats causing the rough idle. Could it be spark plugs causing it to miss?

If its a 3100 change the plugs and wires and inspect coil terminals for rust. VERY common. Get Delco plugs and wires. Cheap plugs and wires are just that.

Try a spray bottle with water, in a dark area, and spritz the spark plug wires with it idling. Look for sparks. Sometimes it doesn't work until it gets pretty bad, but it could reveal the problem pretty easy.
