View Full Version : Basic GM parts list for rebuilding a 6L80E + extra clutch option

Pull up our trans and they list all the retaining rings available. I believe the ones needed:
24233407- 4-5-6 thin ring ** extra clutch option
24240194- 3-5-R thin ring *** you have to machine the clutch stand or end plate to get clearance on this clutch pack for the extra clutch and steel.
fiber kit- 24248008
Seals- 24260143
1-4 steels- 24258080- 5ea
3-5-R-steels 24258082 -5ea (only 4 required for stock configuration)
4-5-6 steels 24258083- 7 ea (only 6 required for stock configuration)
3-5-R fiber 24235681 - 1 ea * for extra clutch option
4-5-6 fiber 24224158 - 1 ea * for extra clutch option
Deep pan kit with filter and seal - 24250062

should i remove the wave plates of 3-5-R and 4-5-6 for extra clutches and steels?

You need one VERY large set of o-ring pliers (see my rebuild thread) and a special tool to remove the lower set of clutches. The second one is optional but makes it much easier to reinstall.

I'm at 90,000 now and my shift flare has become more present. Would the parts above address this issue? Thanks.

Must be a part-throttle flare. Could be worn or just need a better tune.

I couldn't pull these up on Nalleys website, but found them on RockAuto etc. any idea why?
