I'm trying hankook all seasons right now and they were great but wear down really fast for my spirited driving. What other brands have you brothers been using on the G8's?

I have the Continental DWS on my car and they are GRRRR8 in the rain and dry.

There's a new Michelin, Pilot Sport AS 3 all season. No buyer feedback yet but initial test drives sounds top notch. See TireRacks test drive of it.

I like the Ultracs and the Michelin Pilot Sports. The Michelins are very quiet. Little if any road noise just tooling down the road.

Agreed.
I think as far as tire weight goes they're a bit on the heavy side.

I just started running Kumho Ecsta 4x tires on mine. Got a good deal on them from TireRack and so far I am liking them.

2 years ago and 10,000 miles, I purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires 245/45/18 from Discount Tire Direct(Great CUSTOMER Service). I rotated the tires and now need to replace the front tires. No burn outs and not hard on driving. The tires handled great in snow/wet/dry. But after 10,000 miles I contacted the DTD on line store and without any problems prorated the tires and shipping them out quickly, no questions asked. Tires more expensive than most but with good customer satisfaction, it's worth it.

PSA: Kuhmo 4X suck. Worst tires I have ever had.

Blizzaks on now, and come spring will be buying something else, anything else, for the stock 19s.

BTW, only got about 1.5 yrs out of the Kuhmos...thank God.

Ive been reading a lot of good reviews about the new Cooper RS3. I would go for the summer only though instead of the allseason. I might try them this year if I get new wheels. Just gotta sell my stockers.

I had Falken PT722s on my stock 19"s when I was in Kansas.
Great tire, handled surprising well in snow and ice.

I hope mine last longer than that. They got good reviews on tirerack and I thought they had decent traction until it was about 35 degrees or so.

The kuhmo 4x are pretty far down in the middle of the TireRack list. So they would be a just an average tire.

The OEM Bridgestone "summer only" tires gripped better in cold weather than the "all season" 4X.
The first light snow - an inch or so - I couldn't even pull out from a sidestreet onto the main road - no traction, almost slid into the ditch.
Fortunately my car pool buddy was in his LeSabre behind me. I parked the G8 and got a ride home.
4X isn't good at anything.
