Will it fit in a stock GT rear end? If not why? Trying to learn me something.

No it won't. Harrop sells one that will, but it is more expensive.

Cool. Do you know the Harrop part number?

You have two main options, the Harrop Truetrac and the Wavetrac diff. I have the Wavetrac which has a lifetime warranty and will fit the G8 2.92 and Camaro 3.27 rear. If you have any questions let me know!

The Wavetrac fit the stock G8 splines? I put the 3.27 rear in along with G-force Anti wheel hop kit and wonder if things would still work. Where did you get your Wavetrac and for how much?

Yes the Wavetrac will fit the stock splines, I put mine in the 3.27 rear with G-Force 750 HP axles. I was the first to get the Wavetrac when they developed them.
http://www.wavetrac.net/application.htm down the page in GM for $1200.
If I may ask - any issues with the Wavetrac? Install/axle fit/operation/noise?
Thanks!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I couldn't help it after reading your response - and since I have a Camaro 3.27 rear with G-Force 750 HP axles too. The Wavetrac unit listed for the G8 (57.309.140WK) will fit in the Camaro 3.27 no problems?

I would say no since they are totally different units. I think the poster is mistaken on it fitting the Camaro

It's too bad GForce doesn't sell the true trac for G8's any more.

Not necessarily. The diff and truetrac from your car was/are in my car now. The truetrac self destructed. I will post pictures once I get it apart. I replaced it with a wavetrac. If it destructs I have a lifetime warranty.

Ultra z sold you the diff from my old car?
The diff was a new 3.27 gxp diff & the true trac was from GForce.

Which wavetrac unit did you purchase and in what diff. did you install it in?

What type of gear oil is everyone is in with the true/wavetracs? Car came with a True-Trac when purchased, just changed the fluid yesterday with Lucas synthetic 75W90.

That Lucas is what I used in the truetrac. In the wavetrac I am using the recommended Motul 75W140.
