Have bmr sway bars and spoon links for nearly 2 years now and pulling into the driveway I hear a loud thud. Park the car and find the bracket that holds the rear sway bar laying in the driveway. Snapped in 2. The other half still bolted to the car.
Please tell me I am not the only one this happened to. And does anyone know if I can order just this onr bracket?

No, you're not the only one. It happens. Doug Hilliard, on the board under that name, has broken a few of them with all his road course track days. :)

That's kind of a relief then.
Still sucks though as I dont road race.

Thanks for you help Greg.

Unfortunately with the way GM/Holden designed the way the rear sway bar mounts to the cradle you are stuck using the factory rear sway bar saddles/brackets with all the rear sway bar options available. One way to strengthen those factory rear sway bar saddles/brackets is to weld a gusset on each side of the saddle/bracket and that will make it considerably stronger.

Weld a what? Excuse my ignorance here, but could you elaborate? I have a buddy with a welder who loves to customize.

Show him the post, he will understand. Basically a triangle on each side...

It looks like you got it all figured out, if you by chance took any pictures of the rear sway bar saddles with gusset welded on post them up so everyone can see what I am talking about.

Here's what mine looks like now; you may as well weld both sides since when you strengthen one, the other one will break after a little time. Also, the attachment point on the LCA on my passenger side is now broken so that one will get rewelded and strengthened as well.

That is exactly what I am talking about Doug. Adding these gussets is the easiest way to strengthen up these saddles/brackets since we are all stuck using the factory ones.

I am kind surprised but not too surprised that we are starting to see the G8s have issues with the end link mounts on the lower control arms because this has been a pretty common issue with the earlier current generation Camaros but has only recently become an issue with the G8s.

I must be blind, deaf and dumb but this looks like the sway bar attachment bracket. What do your revised brackets address Kyle? And I thought I read that the actual attachment point is ripping off also on some op's cars. Has someone got a picture of a "fixed" attachment point? I'm going through the suspension over the winter and want to try get er right.

Nice welding job on those.

For those of us not welding worthy, these might work.
047 - Heavy Duty Billet Aluminum Sway Bar Mounts- 1-1/4” (32mm)
048 - Heavy Duty Billet Aluminum Sway Bar Mounts- 1-3/8” (35mm)
046 - Heavy Duty Billet Aluminum Sway Bar Mounts- 1” (25mm)
045 - Heavy Duty Billet Aluminum Sway Bar Mounts- 7/8” (22mm)

My sway bars are 26mm (front) and 23mm (rear). I'm thinking the 25mm ones are close enough to work. Asking the vendor now.

What I really want is BMR adjustable rear LCA's but can't spend the cash right now!

I'm not sure how you can attach these for the rears; you might want to take a look at the mounting area if you haven't already done so before ordering. On the welding, that's Rick Crawford's work and he does do a good job!

Rick Crawford? Why didn't you just say so? :) Heck I would just buy some brackets and send them to him to weld up!

Had them both welded up at the same time.
Shouldn't be breaking again.
And shouldn't creak anytime soon with the amount of green greace I used.

The revised brackets are for the front sway bar and the only customers that didn't receive the revised ones are the first 40 or so customers that ordered the sway bars from us. We get the front sway bar bushing and saddles directly from Energy Suspension like most suspension manufactures do but we found out they weren't up to the task the way they come from Energy Suspension so we weld gussets on them and powdercoat them and which makes them considerably stronger and these are our revised version. The only option for the rear is to reuse the sway bar saddles due to the way GM decided to mount the rear sway bar to the cradle. There has been a handful of guys that have had the end link mount rip off the lower control arm in the rear but as far as I know there have been only 3-4. I am surprised it has taken this long for this issue to pop up on the G8s because it has been a issue with the 2010+ Camaro for a while now even in the stock configuration.

None of these saddles will work on any of the rear sway bars period because of the way the rear sway bar is mounted to the rear cradle. You may be able to get these to work on the front depending on the size of the bar but with the billet aluminum saddle being considerably thicker you take away some of the usable threads on the stud that mount the front sway bars so that may not be too good of an idea either.

That will work just fine and the Green Grease will keep them nice lubed up.

FYI the 92191934 from Holden is 1/3 the price it sells for in USA.
That might make it worthwhile for somebody to make a batch.

Are these for the rear sway bars or both front and rears?
