VCM if you have the cash, RotoFab is always a great choice.

Roto-Fab. Although the Vararam's are nice too, if you get caught in heavy rain with one, you have a good chance at sucking water into your engine.

I've been in plenty of heavy rain on hrpt and didn't have any issues with a vararam.

Orrsom OTR - direct, easy to install, always performs in comparison flow tests, sounds well... orrsom!

I've had my Vararam for 3 years now driving the car every day in Florida where we get a significant amount of down pours, NEVER had a problem with water intrusion. It was my fear too but it just does not happen. I love the Vararam.

That's good to know. I've heard a few horror stories with them in the rain but then again they were also on LS1 Camaros, Trans Ams, etc.

The New Era intakes had a few cases of hydrolocked engines but I haven't heard of any issues with the other OTR intakes such as Vararam, VCM, or Orssom. That said, I have a Roto-Fab and am happy with it.

I know of no such event with the vararam. The new era, yes but they had a straight path in, the vararam has a dropped snout, then of cours it would also have to get through the filter.

To really get the most out of the intake you'll need to get a tune though...

FWIW, What is your objective when you pop the hood? Roto and vararam are not stock appearing and will draw the immediate look. Not bad, but obvious not factory. The VCM with side panels is stock appearing. Only a person who knows G8 engine bay will know it not factory. Performance wise it's one of the best as shown by a couple 1320 folks.

Remove the sticker from the Vararam and an untrained eye will think it's stock if you also use black connecting tubes.

I'm probably the minority here but I like my K&N CAI. It was cheaper than the rotofab by about $100.

No intake is going make much difference in performance without a great trans tune. Get the one you can afford, or watch the for sake forum. Seriously.

I apologize if I'm thread jacking, but does anyone know if a Vararam will fit a Holden front end? I'm finally thinking about the power mods and as mentioned in the other thread that was linked, CAI is first up. MarylandSpeed site says that Vararam will give really good results. Thanks for the help!
