How about these 17"wheels on my 09' G8! NO CLEARANCE ISSUES!!!

AND... you thought I was confused before!!!!!

http://i334.photobucket.com/albums/m406/RobMoser/IMG_5499.jpg

They are Shuk WR-1's off my GTO! Staggered set - 245-45 8" fronts w/ 40 offset and 275-40 9" rears with 48 offset. Tires are Bridgestone RE 750's. G8 rides more firm (don't ask me why ??) and steering is very crisp. Tires have about 8K, and are starting to make noise when braking. Had same tires on Volvo Wagon and while they handled great, were very noisy at 35K, especially when braking.

Speedometer is only off about 4% or around 3 mph fast at 70mph on GPS. NOW HAVE 3.06 rear end! Best part...they weigh much less!

Next project is putting on 20's from my Denali. Anyone know where I can get some 5 - 6 lug adapters????

Uhm... Yeah... I have 17" wheels on mine and they look VERY similar but I am running larger profile snow tires. Mine still looks goofy but not quite as much as yours.

lol

This was just to prove it could be done.

Unsprung weight savings is big! They are 36 lbs lighter than stock 19's and 44 lbs lighter than my Staggered Beyerns.

Surprised that the ride is firmer though. Turn in felt quicker than the 050A's, but will check it out in White 08'. Took it up to 85 with no issues.

Yeah mine were 5 pounds per wheel lighter over the stock 19" wheels and tires. That's A LOT!

I could go on a diet and make up the 20 pound difference.....but yeah, every little bit counts.

Notice the supply tank at the front of the garage..... Needed on days like this where it's in the mid 80's.

Rob, what is the wheel width and offset you have for the wheels on the white G8?

Thanks.

My 19's are Beyern Multi's and are 9.5" w/ 45 offset. The 285 - 050A's are really wide. Section width is 11.7", Tread width is 10.9".

I have posted that I have heard a "zing" or 2 but can't find any evidence of rubbing on tires or wheel wells/lip. Only has happened when turning at very low speeds over bumps/dips and also has come from front. Maybe 4 times total in 200 mi.

The 275 - 17's are 10.9" section width and Tread is 10.0" based on new RE 760's. Mine are the discontinued RE 750's.

These will go back on GTO. It's in Iowa. Tires are here in FL.

Not sure if I will keep Sport wheels & tires, or if I'll get some staggered 19's.

Thank you sir! I'll probably keep to the 275s since I might be buying the pedders lowering springs.

Probably a good idea if you're lowering it.

275 050A's are 10.9" section width and 10.2" tread width.
Height is only 2/10 of an inch different.
