Anybody else have a problem with onstar and dashhawk? My monthly diagnostic reports keep coming back to me with no data available. I unplugged the dashhawk and had them do a remote diagnostics and everything came up fine. Is there anything i/we can do to fix this issue?

Its likely not the DH. Mine come in fine. do you leave your DH hooked up all the time? Not a good idea as it can drain your battery in some cases. I unplug mine when I'm not in the car.

Yes i do leave it plugged in all the time but as far as i knew it shuts off after a few minutes. Never had a battery problem yet and most times it sits in my garage for a week before driving again.

it goes to sleep, it never shuts down.

If you leave your DashHawk plugged in all the time it will prevent Onstar from retrieving the diagnostic data. Check the MSD forum for more information.

Interesting. I guess mine works because I unplug it.

I am actually viewing this as a benefit. On Star will not know that I have a CEL due to my headers (waiting for a tune) as I have the DH plugged in.

I got my onstar report in the email today. Under Stabilitrak and ABS it says:

Diagnostic: We were unable to successfully complete a diagnostic test. This issue may be caused by an aftermarket device plugged into your vehicle's diagnostic port.
If an indicator light is lit on your dashboard, push your blue OnStar button.

What's funny is that I don't have a dashhawk or anything plugged in.

Have you pushed the blue button?

No, there's no indicator light on my dash.

As to why this is happeneing, from what I've seen on the bench when OnStar goes to do its diagnostics it wakes up the bus, gets its data and lets the bus go back to "sleep". The issue is when the bus is woken up the Dashhawk jumps back on the bus like its supposed to but the OnStar unit uses the SAME Diagnostic ID as the Dashhawk when it puts itself on the bus so yeah... Packets have no idea what they are doing :)

Nope, not once. My G8 was a year old this week.

I did. It got new headlights, and had the front bumper cover repainted.
Next week it gets a Circle D converter. :)

The Dashhawk causes onStar diagnostic conflicts on my G8 GXP... works fine on my TBSS. Wonder what the difference is... you'd think that CAN data is the same. Must be a busy bus in the G8.

OnStar is Class II IIRC on TBSS ;)

Not completely sure what that means and why it is different... explain please?

Will I have the same problem if I install AeroForce Interceptors?

Maybe I should be asking you how to fix the TPMS on my TBSS!
