Radiator hose too short?

seems like a dumb question, but i have done dozens off upper and lower hoses on several cars never come across this, new lower hose will not work to short? 2009 g8 gt ? i have a used lower hose its short... only thing i can think of is radiator is new from genesisautoparts (china) i have oem rad i bought from bodyshop on here holds pressure just dented maybe new radiator is shorter? never put both side by side... any ideas????

Check a hose for a 2008 and see if it matches.

i found out theres a 1st design and second design, the one i have is GATES Part # 23451 Molded Coolant Hose; 1 11/32" x 1 9/16" x 16 5/16"
Lower and its too short i was on newgmparts.com and found this out

The GXP ones are different also, at least one is.

Yes from 2008 to 2009.5 there are 2 designs and then the GXP upper hose is different since the inlet on the water pump is moved on the LS3.

Those of us with the 2009.5 GTs got the same waterpump/upper hose as the LS3 GXPs.

92157816 (Upper)

For 2009.5 GTs and GXPs they are:

92225733 (Lower)
92215927 (Upper)

What this translates to as far as Gates part numbers, I have no idea.

i would then assume that the 2nd design part#er 92225733 lower is alittle bit longer than first design or part#er 92157818, went to Gates site plug in part# 92157818 and gates part 23451 comes up i put 2nd design and nothing so dealer i go or gm online.. checking with greg at pace 1st...

Well we posted the same upper hose number, at least I got that right. I'm guessing with the PPV they came out with a new PN for the lower hose which must supersede the G8 number I had found.

Greg, Although the 4 Part Numbers you gave are still showing as current here and there....I checked stock levels (online) here and sense there may be some even newer Part Numbers again. It seems very odd that the largest warehouse in Australia wouldn't have enough radiator hoses available on the shelf to repair 1x VE V8 car pre or post break point.
I've made an enquiry about it....more news tomorrow.

OK It's just some kind of stock issue here, they're all on backorder except [2009.5 GT and GXP
Upper - 92215927]. Maybe there's a new number in the pipeline for just that one.
