View Full Version : 18" Tire & Wheel Upgrade!

I'm looking into getting my tires & wheels upgraded. What I'm looking at presently are Mchellin Pilot Sport A/S Plus 245x45x18 up front mounted on TSW Wheels size 18x8x40 and 275x40x18 tires out back mounted on 18x9.5x45 same style TSW wheels. Anyone else looking at something similar?

I can tell you that the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is what I have run on my last 3 cars including the G8GT and they are remarkable. Great gobs of traction, quiet, 400 wear rating, Z rated for speed (186 MPH and higher if YZ). I have also averaged aout 40K per set and I trade 'em in when they get even close to wear bars.

Yes, I was VERY close to putting Snettertons on mine. Found a good deal on GTS wheels and that was it.

Love pilot sport a/s - would go with them again (the new & improved 'plus' versions) but they're insanely priced for the size i'm looking at (245/35/20 and 285/30/20)

Yep, I hear ya, if they go 40K miles ... that makes it more doable at least.

I searched every site known. I think I found the best prices on TSW's at Victoria Tire.

Thanks for your effort. I checked it out, but they don't seem to have the correct size for the G8. I think I need 18x9.5. The site lists 18x9 but these wheels are for another fitment, I believe.

Discount Tire Direct has them for about $7 more per wheel and they ship for free.
