Another GORGEOUS care completed by Chase!

This was a VERY interesting client. He came to me THROUGH a local hotrod builder, but had the builder bring me the car. This Chevelle was actually delivered by the shop owner after he installed a new Vintage Air system in it. The car was actually built by another shop in Tennessee, but the client just moved to Alabama. He's been burned in the past, quite badly, so Tim (shop owner here in town, that delivered me the car) are out to win him over. You'll find out if that happened at at the end of this writeup!! For the budget, we were shooting for about 85% correct. Here's how the bomb got built:

After compounding/polishing, time for a quick wipe with a Singlesoft towel & IPA mix, to prep for the sealant:

I don't normally get to use this sealant, due to the cure time, but I had this car overnight so I was STOKED to "lay it down" :)

The client was "over the moon" with his excitement for the end result! Said we were the FIRST two guys to take his money, and actually DELIVER on what we promised!! He's got over 30 classics & hotrods, so we'll see where this leads!! Thanks for looking! And as always, I'm here if you have any questions! :)

I need to do that to my 71 badly. Sold my 70 before I ever could.

Awesome work. How do.you guys deal with single stage paints?

I haven't read about doing this. Do you want to explain a little more?
I'm going to have to try some of that metal polish for my brass bar tap and and guess some polished aluminum wheels :)

What's your question Greg? Adams Sealant likes to cure for about 12 hours before seeing weather or topping it with one of their other products like Brilliant Glaze, Buttery Wax, Americana, or Patriot. You of course do not need to top if you don't want to. Adams also has their "Quick Sealant" which I use more than anything now, and it only needs about 30 minutes of cure time.

Their metal polish really works quite well.

Sealant needs to set overnight(12hrs) before applying wax.

Ahh OK I've just been using the sealant and nothing else on top. So I guess I've been doing it correctly w/o even knowing it since after I'm done I park the car in the garage for the night :)

Then after sealant, add a glaze then a layer or two of wax

Pretty funny, I saw the title of this thread and said.....hey that title looks awefully familiar as does the car description. I've knownn Chase Tubbs for about 15 years now. Great guy, and very passionate about his work. As soon as I can scrape up some extra $ I'm going to let him do the G8. It needs it.
