May I ask how much & where did you get your chrome done on your N87 rims?

When I switch back to my stock GT rims for winter :windy:, I may consider taking my N87's across to the chrome side. That looks really sharp. Wonder how they would look chromed on an MGM.

I bought these on Ebay from a couple in California (tires,rims and TPM) for $1400. There is a company called US Wheel Exchange. You buy the rims from them chromed and they send them to you. Then you send them your rims back. They have to be the same rims. I talked to the guy on the phone I wanted to buy one rim that matches the one's on the car for a spare. He does the base G8 rims, the GT rims and the 19" rims.

In 2000 Chevrolet started shipping Two lovely kinds of cars to the middle east

Lumina ss ( as above pics ) and Caprice ss ..

The engine in Commodore ss and in Lumina ss is the same :

L98 same as L76 with no AFM but the gear in 2007-2008 came with two options :

All those years left i woundered WHY GM company didn't make a sedan car like Commodore ss for U.S.A while they made LS1 / L98 engines for Austrailia :hang: and for the Middle East :flame:

Did you have to remove the outdoor mirrors or loosen them to install the door trim? What was the trickiest part? I've seen the instructions but they don't really elaborate on how to detach the door trim. The gutter trim looks much more straight forward. I noticed one screw holding down the front end of the trim....

It was easy. What I did for the lower window trim was use duct tape to protect the paint at the rear of the front door and both ends of the rear doors. With the windows down I grabbed the trim and pulled up in 2/3rds toward the rear. As I pulled I also sort of rocked it slightly with my fingers toward the inside then outside direction. You will feel it start to release and you continue pulling. You may break the tab. I only broke one out the 6 (1 on each front door and 2 on each rear door). The front edge pulled out from behind the morror about the same time the rear clip let loose. The rear trim was about the same but has clips on both ends. To install the front I just started the frond end into the opening in the mirrow and aligned the clip at the rear end with the slot in the door. Once the clip was lined up i just carefully pushed the moulding down onto the lip on the door which latches the new clip. There is a channel in the moulding that the verticle lip on the door goes into. Just make sure it is all lined up before seating it. It actually took longer to type this than it take to replace 1 moulding.

On the upper piece, remove the screw at the front and work your way to the rear popping the clips out of the car with a non-marring or scratching tool (screwdriver covered in tape for example). As you get near the back and release last horizontal clip, the 2 or 3 that hold the verticle and curved section should just pop out. Be careful not to let the end swing around and scratch your paint as it popping loose may catch you by surprise. To install, start at the back and work forward, ending by putting the screw at the front back in place.

I'm going to ask a potentially dumb question, but how did you get all of the lights to illuminate on your cluster at once? Or did you just time your shot with 'boot-up'?

If you go in to the service menu by holding the enter key on the left side of the steering wheel down while you turn the key from off to on (dont have to start the car), there is an option in there for "test mode" I believe, and it illuminates all the lamps and points the needles straight up like that.

I shot this one using a long exposure. Hit the button on the camera, hit test mode on the wheel, and let it do its thing :)
