I need some advice. I want to go with 20x9 rims up front and 20x10 in the rear.
So what tire sizes should I go with for the front and rear? I want to get the widest & thickest profile tire for those rim sizes, all the while making sure I don't need to do any work to the fenders (ie; shaving, rolling, etc...).
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Go with a high positive offset whatever you do...check out my sig. There are people running 285(i'm pretty sure)/35r19 on a +45mm offset with no rubbing. IIRC, Rob Moser is running a similar setup to what you are wanting. Make sure you take into account the width of the wheel too. If you are wanting to run around a 275-285 tire on a 10" wheel you might want to shoot for a +50mm offset and up. I'm sure a more experienced member will post a better answer soon for you.

Use this Tire Calc (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) to figure out tire size. Enter your current tire on the left. Enter the width and diameter you want on the right, and change the aspec ratio to find a tire as close to nominal diameter as possible. Rev's per mile is a great constant to watch for as it changes the most.

I'm running 19's not 20's. (Beyern Multi's mfg. by TSW) I have 8.5" rims with 40 offset on front with stock tires. My rears are 9.5" with 45 offset and 285 050A's that are really wide. (Look at Bridgstone spec's for various 050A's) So far no clearance problems or noticeable rubbing. Rear is very tolerant of more inset (higher offset #) Front is where you might have an issue with wider tires. A couple times I have heard what I thought was rubbing (zinging noise) at slow speeds turning into a driveway/ parking lot etc., both in the front and in the rear but at separate times. However, I have yet to see any evidence of rubbing, either on tires or fender (white car) or fender liners. Since it seems to occur only during sharp turns at very slow speeds over speed bumps or gutter dips where the car hits them one tire at a time and the suspension is twisting, I am not concerned.
Keep us informed and Good Ludk!

well if you dont a want any rubbing go 20x8.5 245/35/20 fr 20x10 275/30/20 rear that's the set up i have no rubbing, with four people in the car going 100+ so there you go and you need a 50mm offset wheel.........

My car has 255/35/20 on a 9 inch with 40 offset front, and 285/30/20 on a 10 inch with a 55 offset and I have no issues with rubbing. I have not done any fender work. It is at stock ride height for now.

NWO, do you have pictures of your tire/wheel setup posted anywhere? I searched your posts with no luck.

Nice, is the 255 tire on a 9 inch rim stretching the tire? Or is it the ideal size? Sorry, I'm a "tire size" n00b.

+1, I'd also like to see.

Wish I had some good pictures but I dont. I plan to work on that in the spring. Right now have my 18" stock all seasons on for winter.

I think it is just right. Any smaller and it may start stretching the tire.

I found some I liked. They are the stock tries from the ZR1. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. Reviews say they are super sticky, although noisy and wear very fast.
They only come in 275/35/20 for the rear, will those fit? Or should I go 275/35/19 to make a better fit?
See here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+PS2 (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+PS2)

Is it screwing anything up to bad if I go 275/35/20 in the rear as opposed to 275/30?
