For 2013 Spec cars there's plenty of changes which supercede the info in the vids.
Cars now have the gearbox and locked diff replaced with a transaxle independent rear suspension.
No fuel trim switches in the car anymore.
No rear suspension roll centre adjuster anymore.

7/16" 0.160" wall they certainly won't flex.

Something else they've added for 2013 spec to keep spending down and to make a level playing field between all the teams and manufacturers. Every car now has a torque gauge somewhere in the bellhousing area. The officials can monitor how much peak power each car produces. I think they said a 5% window around 650 was their target.
It's not such a big deal because the cars generally only spend 30-40% of the time at full throttle. Handling and getting power down to the track is more important than having the biggest hammer.
