Once again, the man comes through.
Brian did a stall converter swap and a Rick Crawford modified intake manifold swap for me on the Murphy's Law G8 GT (more on that in a bit).
Car feels great. Stall is tighter, there is more power there, and the intake with his tune picked up what feels like some serious power.
On his old Mustang dyno, the car did 420/387. On the dyno he was using today (Dyno Jet), it put up 440/438. While I am hesitant to give any credence to the dyno numbers until I get the car to the track, it is painfully obvious that this car has a lot more down low on it than it did before (thanks a big part to the awesome modified Rick Crawford intake and Brian's tune).
Unfortunately, it was raining out and I really couldn't get on to it too hard. What I did feel, though, was a lot more oomph down low.
I can't wait to see what this car does at the track.

I mentioned above about this car being the Murphy's Law G8. Everything on this stupid car breaks. Random shit, too. Today, in the rain, take a wild fucking guess what broke?
Windshield wiper motor.
Drove a bit over 2 hours back home from Long Island in the rain without windshield wipers. Thank God for Rain-X. That's all I have to say.

In case anyone is wondering, I think that the Rick Crawford intake, on my car, was worth about 5 RWHP and about 15 RWTQ with tuning (conservative estimate). Totally worth it. The down low power on this car is now quite killer.

Dyno sheet (Vinny Ten racing is the company Brian is renting dyno time from -- awesome dudes and they deserve a shout out, too.)

Nice #s.
Wipers are rarely used...mainly just winter. I use RainX on everything.

Working out of his house, actually!

Brian is the best tuner I've ever met and a good friend of mine. Cannot recommend him enough to local guys.
Vinny Ten's shop is seriously nice. I am not the biggest import fan, but that shop is building some ridiculous, well built import cars. So much respect for the import guys that do it right (and don't cheap out).

Thanks a lot.
I use the wipers very little (just to clean the windshield and in rain). No real idea why the hell the fucking motor/assembly went. Very annoying. I RainX everything up as well.

Your Welcome!! Glad you noticed a good difference in power and your happy with it. If your guess is 15/5 then at the track you should see .1 and .5 mph only because cars with stalls dont drop back into the tq numbers after a shift. My guess is you will see 1.5 or more mph gain making it closer to 15hp since you are cammed. Big tq gains can wash-out the Hp gains "feel" since the car pulls less into the power at rpm. I am a track guy so I only care how FAST it is. Congrats on the new numbers, hope the track is just as rewarding... What did you have for a best et/mph before the intake?

Car was running 11.9s in good weather before with the old stall.
Upgrading the new stall and this intake, we are hoping for a best of around 11.5 in good weather and running 11.7s or 11.8s in most other weather throughout the year.
Put it this way, the car was running 12.2s bouncing off the rev limiter in the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift along with not hooking at all (2.0 and 1.9 60's) last weekend. Tune is now fixed and hopefully I'll have some better track weather soon (was just too cold last week -- no one was hooking -- and no rubber was down on the track yet). If the car is running 12.2s in those poor conditions, it will improve dramatically on a good track day.

Brian is awesome! Stands behind his work like no other. How has he been? I haven't seen him or talked to him since I got rid of my G8 about 2 years ago. I went to him when he was in Deer Park, then he moved to Setauket. He's not in Setauket anymore?
