Don't forget about the GXP. I know why it's not coming here, being a limited run, but it still sucks. However, it's a fairly bland looking car so I'm really only upset that I'm not ALLOWED to buy it.

I was going to wait to see one in person before deciding whether to buy one or not. Guess I don't have to worry about that now.

That will make G8 prices very stable in Canada...and by that, I mean keep their value.

I doubt that. I bought mine in november for 18 and change..it was a lease return. I saw it on the local classifieds and messaged that guy about it. He told me he had it up for 3 months and not one bite. He decided to just return the lease.

Our used car markets dont fair well for "gas guzzlers". My g8 recently got 9.5/100km on a road trip. I am averaging 14.5L/100km on mostly city driving. Funny my boss has a new ford edge v6 and is averaging 15.0L/100km. V8s in general are not perceived very well.

Gas up here is waaaay more than in the US. Easily 25% more. This does turn a lot of people off so that will affect pricing but as there are so few around I think that balances it out.

Periodic, $18000 sound like a great deal. I need to try harder to get out to see it ;-(

This is quite frustrating to hear. I was under the assumption we were getting the SS and was hoping we would benefit from much cheaper parts for our cars I don't know about you other canucks, but I have been finding it very hard to purchase parts from even the dealers, and the cost for general wear and tear items are jus rediculous. Ontop of that, half the GM service managers don't even know what a G8 is and you pretty much need to spoon feed them parts numbers for anything you want.

I had one GM service manager tell me my car didn't exist, another that it was FWD, and so on lol.

I guess my hope of cheap parts is no longer :(

Talk to Greg or Paul for stock parts. Shipping can be quite reasonable and you'll never get the blank stares that our dealers paste on when you mention G8.
