Converter doesn't feel like it unlocks when the brakes are applied as it should, feels more like it doesn't unlock until it's down to about 5mph when it downshifts from 3rd to 1st, drags the rpm down and then when it shifts to 1st it lunges and then unlocks. After 20-30 minutes of driving and warmed up good it is much better but it's still not great. Would this be more of a converter related issue or transmission? I think I'm going to do a converter swap anyway but will that resolve the issue, and yes the current converter is stock w/60k miles

sounds like a tune issue to me. But im sure other folks with more knowledge will chime in

That's what I originally was thinking until I spoke with Steve (VMS) and he said the converter should unlock whenever the brake pedal is applied

I would see if the dealership would replace it under warranty. If they won't because of the cam, you can get a new TC anyway. If they do, then you have a new stock TC to put away in case you want to go back.
