Nice pics. One question though. What "Line" do you reference the "V8" badging for the fenders? Are they level with the ground? Body side marker light? Bottom of the door? Sorry, this is three questions. I have just installed mine and it was a b...to figure out what looked the best as I did not have what you have provided.

Crazy Paul

Fair enough question.

Of the 4 V8 badges (on 2 cars) I measured the H to W (on one side) and H to Z measurement (on the other side) of 116mm was consistent.

The straight line H is on, is parallel to the flat surface on top of the sill.

OK here's more pics showing the Original badge locations on the Holdens.
If you want measurements to replicate any of these then just PM me and I'll go measure them up and give you a dimensioned drawing.

This is the V6 model, called SV6 here. It has the COMMODORE lettered badge on the rear left trunk as seen here. Also the Large Lion in the centre of the trunk lid.

The VE (2006+) trunk lion is way bigger [about the size of a CD] than all previous trunk lions. 1996 to 2006 lion badges were all 65 or 70mm dia.

I saw some tiny little "hairdressers" car just the other day called a Holden Viva, it had about a 50mm dia trunk lion. Very cute. :)

I actually prefer the smaller one, maybe because to me it adds a unique touch after seeing hundreds of the normal bigger ones every day.

Welcome aboard.

Yes you're onto it.
Holden is the basic platform (eg like Ford)
HSV is a seperate division/partner who take the basic car and modify it, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, different engines etc (think Roush,Saleen etc)

Thank you CP for the measurements!! I have the Lion Badge for the Trunk. Does anyone have the measurements for that? Obviously it needs to be centered but I'm not great at these kind of projects.

In addition, I have the new SSV badges for the left side of the trunk near the bottom. Anyone have a measurement for that?

Lastly, what is the best way to install the badges? Should I just wipe of the dirt? Rubbing alcohol? Any suggestions?

Thank you to all.

Seattle09GT

Rubbing alcohol applied with a lint free cloth and allowed to completely dry to assure the surface is stripped of all dirt AND wax. Install on a warm but not hot surface. You'll get better long term adhesion. Never touch the adhesive with your fingers when applying, the oil will hurt the quality - take your time, you only get one shot at placement. You can use a pencil (seriously - a number two pencil) to mark where to put your badges (well OK, might be hard to see on a MGM or PBM G8 - the benefits of white I guess). The marks will come right off. Spot wax the area 24 hours later.

Trunk Lion.
Centered horizontally from each side of the car.
As per Post #41, 20mm gap between bottom of the badge and the lower edge of the trunklid.
Additionally the lion is rotated so that the flat on top of his head is almost horizontal.

As noted - no. It is worth pointing out that on the Pontiac G8 nosed 2010 Holden Commodore SS-V SE are produced with no emblem on the front at all.

The Pontiac arrowhead can be removed, the holes filled and painted to match if you're trying to create an Aussie look, like this:

3 holes that Bob the Builder would be proud of, a horizontal crease, and a vertical curve.

I had my share of trial & error on what could fit ... finally went to the dealer's body shop to have the front arrow removed / holes filled / repainted. Around 400$ but well worth it.
Thanks to Paul, I got the Red Hot SSV steering wheel and Holden emblem to put over the air bag's arrow.
Now the only thing I need is a dash cluster from a genuine Commodore VE-SSV !

Be really careful with that. Apart from the Holden speedo markings being only in kmh (you can probably live with that in Canada), there's a break point 1st April 2008 where Holden changed manufacturer of the main instrument cluster. The new manufacturer uses different internals and apparently new clusters dont work in older cars and vice versa.
To tell the difference visually the rear backing of the clusters is a different colour (old version is white and the new is black).
Old clusters have red lighting only.

Old cluster (notice the 2 white feet which are part of the white rear backing cover)
