I realize this thread may be more appropriate in the Brake and Wheel section however I wanted to have the answer come from folks that have tracked their cars.
I'm planning to install CTS-V brakes (2004-07) and as I understand it with the factory 19" wheel I need a 10mm spacer to clear the calipers. This requires a longer stud. In the future, I plan to install wider rear tires which may/will require a larger spacer.
Question 1: Am I at significant risk of breaking studs during track events if I go with a slip-on spacer and longer studs?
Question 2: I should use a bolt on spacer for anything over 15mm?
Question 3: For those that track your cars routinely, are you running spacers? Any issues?
Thanks for your time. I don't post often but I love the board and the experience and knowledge.
