Bluetooth has hit the land!

Just wanted all to know that I found a 2009 GT which has bluetooth. It's designated as a 2009 1/2 model year, build week 35. It states "bluetooth for phone" on window sticker, under the "interior" section. Same as the GXP. Has a vin # in the 300,000's.

I have still been trying to see what can be done for those of us that wish we had Bluetooth and been in touch with different people and I just got this info from one of the G8 marketing managers yesterday.

"G8 does not have a Bluetooth retrofit unit available currently. We will investigate if one can be provided in the future.
For reference, please see the communication on Bluetooth below which has been provided to all Pontiac dealers.


2009 G8 Interim Feature Enhancements: Bluetooth and All Season Tires

These enhancements are an interim change, effective with select production starting November 2008
– Vehicles are targeted to arrive at port in February 2009
– Not all 2009 G8 vehicles have these enhancements; Most 2009 G8 Sedan and 2009 G8 GT vehicles do not have them. All 2009 G8 GXP Vehicles do have them.

Enhanced equipment includes:
– Bluetooth for Phone – standard on all models; vehicles will show Bluetooth for Phone on price label
– All Season Tires – standard on all models
– Performance (Summer) Tires – become optional all on models as a no-charge option to help simplify ordering and inventory management.


2009 G8 Pricing has been revised accordingly for vehicles with these features:
– G8 Sedan: Base MSRP increases $60 to $28,935
– G8 GT: Base MSRP increases $200 to $32,440
– G8 GXP: Initial base MSRP is $38,295"

Most of this stuff we know already but it looks like there MIGHT be a chance for a retrofit kit. Sure hope so. I will reply on Monday with questions and we shall see what's next.
