View Full Version : Penzoil Ultra and fuel injectors flushed.

On Sunday I had my oil changed. Not by the dealer, but by a friend who owns/franchisee of a jiffy lube. Put in penzoil ultra instead of mobile 1 and had the fuel injectors flushed. Man the car is fucking awesome now. I mean smooth as hell, throttle response and even my clutch feels more responsive and haven't had any difficulty putting it in first that I've been having for about a year. Last time I go to the dealership for shit man. Like the body shops and other places I go for repair/upgrades to my car, never used the dealership and I'll probably never see them unless something in the transmission blows (5 year 100k). But damn this car is smooth, great idle rumble/shake but ruff as a pair of tits scoured by a rusty SOS pad when I bang on it.

... had the fuel injectors flushed.
I don't think I've ever had this done. Based on your results I think it's time for me to do this.

I'm serious, Noob. I, uuuuhhhhhhh, spent a lot of time with two Filipino sisters who had the biggest fake titties to body proportion I've seen up close and personal with my face closely inspecting areas for defects. One had a fucked up nipple replacement thingamajigger. It was fucking weird man. But, my loins had a rather decadent time and I got free shit cause they were rich and loved my accent since I was in Long Beach at the time and growing up in between the Plateau and Blue Ridge regions of the Appalachian mountains here in Virginia/WV on the familys' farms gave me a little bit a a draw. I turned it up in CA because it was like shooting fish in a barrel.
And Executor999, flush it. I'm going to do it once a year. Made a nice difference. More than I though it would.

You can actually flush/clean the injectors at home. It just takes a bit of time (i.e., the removal of the injectors is what takes up most of the time).
Pennzoil Ultra is the best oil on the market. There are legit tests showing that it cleans up to 25% better than Mobil 1 !!

You can actually flush/clean the injectors at home. Would love to do this. Can you direct me to any links on doing this right? Also, what cleaner do you recommend? Anything I have around here is probably old technology.

For real, changed my oil in December. Now I'm at 40% left. Going in this weekend.

Cleaning the TB also helps, for those without catch cans.

anyone know which injector flush fluid I would use to flush them on the car? I built a rig years ago and used it on LS1s, but have not done this in years.

BG Products has a great flush
can it be used without adding gas? (will the motor run OK off straight fluid?)

by injector flush are we talking about pulling the injectors, and flushing them with a solution in a pan and
or one of those - hook up a compresssed bottle up to your fuel rail and run the engine flushes. Like they try to sell at oil change places

BG has a flush they hook up and run it thru as the engine is running and they have a product 44k that is the best and have used it a lot and you can tell. Its about $25 a can but you have to find a shop that sells BG Products

I know what an injector flush is, I guess I was not clear. I MADE a rig that attaches to my fuel rail, and pressurizes the fuel rail (using shop air on top of the fluid) with whatever stuff I put in it. I'm just looking for a non-pressurized can of "special cleaner" that is O2 safe and will do a good job cleaning the injectors

Do you know if they sell it "non-pressurized"? nevermind. I can look that up as easy as you can. Thanks for the tip.
edit: bg 210 is designed to go through the fuel rail. BG 44k goes in the tank.

I was asking about the method. some places call it an injector flush but all it is in a in tank treatment.
Incidentally I use SeaFoam prior to every oil change. (in the gas tank not in the oil)

sorry, I mis-read again...THe BG injector flush goes into the fuel rail, after disabling the fuel pump. You run the can on the cleaner. The K44 goes into the tank after the injextor flush.

Pull the injectors - spray cleaner into each (one by one) and use a small power source to run the injector through some cycles. The crud that comes out on to a clean white paper towel will tell you "it's cleaning."

AH yes.
12 volt supply, spray down the inlet. I've never done that, probably because I've always been replacing injectors with the next size up. with 100K on the clock I probably ought to give that a go.
I love me some Pennzoil Ultra. Especially now that Wal-mart has rollbacked the price to $5/qt.

Where the F is this Wal-Mart!?

It's becoming hard to find at Wal-Mart since they seem to be discontinuing carrying Pennzoil Ultra. They rolled back the price on the qt and 5 qt jugs. I use the Wal-Mart app for Android since it's pretty accurate at showing what's in stock at what store. For your location, it looks like Longmont, CO is the closest Wal-Mart that has Pennzoil Ultra 5w-30 for $5/qt. Broomfield, CO has it in the 5qt jug for $21.

I just flushed mine this weekend after creating a rig from a fire extinguisher (don't ask!). It seemed like it only took 2 minutes for the 12 oz can of BG 210 to be depleted. Did it just flow down the fuel supply line, of is that all it takes? I used 40psi air pressure, and the fuel pump relay was disconnected.
