Motor was rebuilt. Test fired. No leaks.....but I have no dash electronics! (i.e., no tach, no speedo, no gas gauge - nothing)

Any leads? Help!

Check fuses/power to the cluster yet, i bet there is a ground or wire that got pinched otherwise.

Check out the cam specs – this thing has a nice lope!

Lobe Lift @.050 – Intake (.3300 x 1.85 on the roller rockers = .610)
Lobe Lift @.050 – Exhaust (.3370 x 1.85 on the roller rockers = .624)
Duration @.050 – Intake (.216)
Duration @ .050 = Exhaust (.230)

Too bad it runs like SH*T right now!! It needs re-programming badly

Other bugs

I still have no dash electronics (no speedo, no tach, no gas gauge) - previously mentioned
I recharged the battery last night
The lights get brighter with RPMs
Alternator?
Disconnected ground wire?

Still searching.......

With apologies to any primates or descendants of primates who may be reading this.

When the motor was first turned over on the starter to check various things, you don't want it to start so you generally pull the FUEL PUMP RELAY. In the G8 the relay for fuel pump is R5 located in the Instrument Panel Fuse box inside the front cabin of the car.

Now if you were a baboon looking for R5 you may instead pull F5 from the Rear Fuse Box located in the trunk near the battery.
F5 in the trunk is for IPC, RCDLR, DLC, DIC Display, and Front Dome/Reading Lamps

Check your reading lamps.

Check your reading lamps.
Yup, dead reading lamps & a banana peel under the back of the car would mean we've solved another tricky one.

I had this same problem after installing my cam. The issue was the main ground from the body to the engine, under the ABS unit, wasn't securely attached. Scared the poop out of me!

It was the damn fuse in the trunk!!!!!!!! Shit! Full dash working again!! Thank you to my fellow primates and baboons for "picking the preverbial fleas off my car" which led me directly to the fix - and some take-out bananas! :-)
