OK guys, the steering wheel in my G8 is very hard on my hands from being
as hard as nails, any suggestions out there, a wrap is one option, any others, thanks.

My gas peddle is too soft! lol

They make a leather wrap, or you could go fuzzy white :)

I personally put a leather wrap around mine within a week. Just to slippery for my taste. Got it at the local Auto Zone.

There is a sport wheel available, but it's $$$.

The wrap is the best bet :)

What wheel do you have? I find mine to be quite comfortable.

You could always wear a set of driving gloves, but, of course you would have to have a set of Ray Ban Aviators to complete the look.

Weird, I read a review from one of the car mags about the steering wheel being "like sandpaper". I honestly don't know where that comes from - mine is nice, soft, smooth leather. I love it.

Mine must be the very very base wheel, it looks to be molded plastic that is made to
look like soft leather of which it is not, the wheel in my Turbo Regal is soft and comfortable, the one in the G8 feels kinda like rough concrete and just as hard.

I have that s.wheel, it comes with the sport package. It has the perforated leather. The only way I can decribe it is "perfect".

If so, I think they're a little difficult to change out because the switches are different to the multi-piece steering wheels.

Try the GXP wheel. I like it, the magazines don't like it because of the different shapes on it. When I first felt it I thought it was weird but after driving it I really like it.

Kind of off the subject but still related, I figured out why it is flat on the bottom (even more than the one pictured above or at least thats the way it looks to me). It is for your leg when you let out on the clutch!

Any idea how much the GXP steering wheel would costs? Wonder if Pace can get it. I was looking at JHP for Holden steering wheels and they run $370 shipped.

Granted I haven't tested the hardness of the plastic steering wheel to which I think the OP refers.

I did recently spend more than an hour climbing in and out of the complete Holden and HSV VE range.

I think hard must be the new black.
The softest steering wheels and console lids were in the lower to mid-range Holden cars.

All the HSV cars...... W427 for example had a steering wheel and console lid which had about the same hardness as a baseball.

WTF ???
