So soon the Pontiac will be blower cammed and have a 2300. I plan to give it a try during winter see how she is, but I am thinking if it doesn't work out as planned, especially with me driving all over for work I am contemplating on a commuter car,

The g37 seems like a logical choice, awd, Bose, comfortable, good fuel economy, and looks Nice.

What do you all think of the G37x as a whole?

If I had a sporty sedan with tons of HP I'd be looking at something other than another sporty sedan as a DD.

Check out the Ford Fusion or a Subaru or something IMO..

I won't ever buy a Ford, nothing against Ford owners just hate their tactics, BS statistics, and general lack of appearance.

As for a prius, lol no thanks. I just don't know these days, I want something I can have plenty of room for my stuff, comfortable, good sound system, and good fuel economy.. So many decisions.

Surprisingly not bad looking front end, but I am not looking for brand new, preferably used, paying off the G and rather buy used outright no payments. Hm.. Life has too many options for me.

I'm a Buick fanboy. The new Buicks have the option of a turbo four with a stick if you so desire. Plus it's a luxury type car (GM calls it premium) so it's going to come with a good ride and a decent stereo.

My brother has a G37X... Hates the engine and trans, loves everything else. Personally, I think there are better looking cars in the same price range.

Believe it or not, he's planning on trading it for a Fusion in about a year. Waiting for any bugs to be worked out of it first.

I'll second Slizzo. Up where you're at, give used Subaru Outbacks a look. They're made for cold weather, and often come with everything from mirror defrosters to windshield wiper deicers on the windshield. Heck, my base model 2003 with a manual has all that. And this is on top of the full-time symmetric AWD that Subaru is known for. And they drive well, to boot. Only trick is that you'd want to get something from 2005 on, as prior to 2005 they had head gasket issues; which CAN be fixed, it just adds to the cost when you have to tear apart the engine as soon as you get it.

An Outback might not be quite as posh as you're looking for, but as others have pointed out, you do have your fast and fancy car in the G8. You could grab yourself a used Outback, put in a new stereo if you needed to, and pocket the difference between that and the price of the Infinitis you were looking at. And I gotta say, with how much I fret over the G8 and its paint, especially, it's nice having a 200,000 mile Subaru whose appearance I don't care about at all and which, apart from drinking oil like it's going out of style and having a finnicky clutch, is dead reliable. So there's something to be said for kicking to the curb the idea of another luxury car in your stable.

Mother in law just got a Forester and loves it. It's a great looking vehicle to boot.
