Obama Tire Pressure Mod!

About 3 weeks ago I tried this Mod.... Am getting 45 psi in the front and 51psi in the back at highway speeds. Handling remains similar but steering might be a touch quicker. Ride quality is changed little!

Being the analytical numbers sort of guy that I am, (used to be in Marketing Research) I reserved judgement on the benefits until now. However, I can post that ever since I did this there has been a DIRECT CORRELATION with gas prices going down in our part of the country. To date I am saving almost 40 cents per gallon on Premium..

Is this mod worth the trouble????? YOU BETCHA!!!!!!!!

P.S. Am thinking about raising my pressures even more in hopes that gas prices will drop even faster!

I think it beats the McCain mod which would be shooting at your tires :)

Actually did raise the pressures to see what would happen. Was really surprised ride was nearly unaffected. Tells me that either these tires are really forgiving, or suspension needs tightening up. Mileage remains similar, but I maintained 35 front 39 rear before. Paid $3.65 for premium this week.
($3.43 for 89 Gasohol).

Have had many sets of Bridgestones, including 3 sets of RE 750's on 3 different vehicles. They certainly rode much stiffer than the originals.

Only 1 car, Need too many mods. But, HAVE too little money.

Best tire wear for me with 19s seems to be at 41psi frt and 37psi rear.
