This was against a WRX not a WRX STi since some get confused with the two.

I'm not sure what year it was, it was not the new ones, I think it was the ones just before. I was heading back home and at the light I pull up to him. He gave me no warning that he was going to launch his car. The light turns green and I get on it as I always do when I have lots of room ahead of me. I may have looked like I launched but it was only about half what this car can do as you guys probably know. So he just launches it. Immediately he gets a car on me so I smashed it and caught him by 70-75 and right when I passed him he let down and turned on the first road LOL. Part of this race was going uphill on a large bridge. But he cut it off right before the top.

Has anybody else raced a WRX or even an Sti?

I've raced one @ the track, but it was running 20psi w/ a TiAL wastegate and 3in DP, so I was no contest to him!

I got an 06 WRX TR "Not My STI" with Cosworth crank, Element Tuning Rods, CP Pistons, ported VF39 turbo @ 18psi, header, up-pipe, turbo back 3'' titanium exhaust, Intake, Tuned, and some other random suspension, brake parts and my G8 doesent feel much slower then it. But im sure if i would up the boost more it would be alot faster then my G8..

The stock 2009 WRX is an animal. It has more power than the 2008 STi. The suspension is much better, a very decent car. If I did not have a G8 I would look seriously at one of these.

The only chance you have starts at 100 mph, it is where 4 cylinders start to wheez because the intercooler is saturated.

Not a G8, but I will give it street cred.

Yep, in the latest Motor Trend Mag. March 2009 the 2009 WRX (non STi) runs a 13.5 @ 101.1mph in the 1/4 mile.

It does it with its 2.5 turbo 4 cylender with 265 HP & 244 TQ. Damn!

3214 lbs. of curb weight....

I was actually looking into a 08 WRX when car shopping(lol I was looking into a lot of cars) but then I heard about the 09s getting more power and I was going to wait out until I saw a G8 GT in person and said F@#k it. Ill take the much better looking car.

I have always loved the Subaru's performance and specs...but hated their awful designs. I do love the look of the Legacy GT though and that was on my short list too but you know...the commodore happened.

"Subaru the beauty of all wheel drive" I was previously in subarus for 6 years I owned 3 of them 2 wrx's and 1 STi. all I can really say is that these cars will surprise you in so many ways it will leave you thinking more and more about them.

Very nice and a good color to match, what did you do to that little rocket?

I had a stage 2 Legacy GT and that was a great car. It reminds me a lot of the G8 but only because it's a sleeper, people don't know what it is, and it's surprisingly nice. I live in Utah so I've been missing the AWD all winter long but i don't miss the understeer. I get better gas mileage in the G8...go figure

^that mpg increase from the G8 couldn't be because of the constant whoooshing sound due to excess throttle in your Legacy could it? :)

Well I'm not sure that I drive the G8 any nicer. If anything the turbo lag kept me from jumping on the throttle a lot just because it took a second for the power to really hit. Where I really see the MPG difference is on the freeway. At 85mph the Legacy got 17-18mpg whereas the G8 gets 22-24 mpg at the same speed.
