i cant seem to find the pictures of the top view of the engine (6.0) so i will explain maybe someone else will be able to help me.
ok ive had the same problem as others with giving the car gas and it falling on its face. idling has been funky as well. no codes as of this time so i brought it to a dealership where i had the cam and lifters done for waranty work. which im noticing the same symptoms again.
so i popped the hood for the shop manager to show him the whistling and the idle and the trans flar(on road trip which i couldnt get the car to duplicate go figure) he says all he hears is intake air and injector noise. then he asks me if there is any codes. which i said no. he then told me if theres no codes then the car is running fine. (bullshit i know my car)
so he told me that he can diagnose the problem after i make an appointment in like two weeks cuz there backed up. crap.
well on my way home from work today sure as shit the check engine light came on. onstar (the shit!!!!) tells me the code P0174. so when i get home i start digging in to see if i can find the root of all evils. so this is where the fun begins.
looking at the engine
the black vacuum line on the driver side on valve cover towards the fire wall that goes all the way forward to right under throttle body is whistling like its struggling to get air.
would this cause this code? is there a reason its whistling? is there a way to fix this?

p0174 code is for a vacum leak.
go to the search box at the top.....type in Po174 code and blow by questions. CP has explained this way better then I could.

i read that thread but thats not the hose thats whistling. the hose thats whistling is the one that goes from under throttle body to the driver back valve cover. i think from what i gather there is a pcv valve in the cover? im not sure.

2 weeks wait? Sounds like that dealership has issues.
Longest I've had to wait for service is over the weekend.

it was the third dealership i went to that said that it was two weeks before they could see me. and it seemed to me that the dealerships are not in any hurry with engine light or customer service.

Sounds like multiple dealerships were giving you a 2 week wait time.
3 different dealerships?
First dealership should have checked for codes, not asked the owner...it's their job to check that stuff out right?
That's poor customer service IMO, I'd make sure GM Customer Service was informed.

To the op, glad you got it fixed. Some dealers can be a pain sometimes. My local dealer checked my codes on my truck when I took it in when they were busy, now thats the way it should be.
