V8 Supercars - Austin 2013

So the first VF you guys will see will be the V8 Supercars version, the Holden production VF road cars aren't expected to be released in Australia until "mid-year 2013." Normally the road cars get released before the new shape appears on the Supercars but not so for 2013.

I already bought my ticket, turn 12. The parking for the F1 race is $200 for the 3 days if you bought a PSL, everyone else has to take a shuttle. I just hope they lower it for the V8 Supercar race and let everyone park at the track.

I'm all in for this. My good friend and I are actually wanting to trailer our cars down to this event. We just need to find and borrow a trailer long enough to do so. I really hope G8GONE is at this event next year as well. That would be a HUGE event and I'm sure bring in many G8 owners from all over the nation. Heck it's around 22 hours from my friends place in Maryland to Austin! V8SC or bust!! :D

Can drive uphill and downhill in rain, hail, sleet, snow and turn left and right.

Paul, What is the concensus on replacing the live rear axle? Do the teams like the new rear end setup?

I haven't heard much talk about it yet. There's been more talk about moving the gearbox to the rear. Only the top couple of teams have tested their own 2013 spec cars to date and those have only been shakedown laps to iron out bugs. They're about ready to give them the beans and see what they can really do tho.

Bracket racer pretty much killed any hope of the 2013 G8GONE event happening next year due to the lack of communication from the race track. I'm not sure it's going to be worth bringing my car since I plan on picking up some larger items while I'm there and a truck will be needed to haul them home.

Just ordered my tickets!! They went on sale about an hour ago. Can't wait for this event!! Now trying to coordinate somehow renting or borrowing a 2 car trailer so that I can haul my car and my good friends G8 down as well. :)

They have general admission tix as well 3 day pass not to bad for the GA. lodging is going to be the hard part. parking for the 3 days is 60$

For what you get, I don't think the prices are that bad. At least they aren't as bad as the F1 prices! I heard that there may be a conjunction going on as far as getting a mini GONE meet going down in TX but I'm not sure if they are planning for that to be around the same time of the race or not. I know I saw it somewhere, just can't remember where since there are a few threads about this race floating about.

Hope to meet some of the members here face to face! If there was any way to get a front end conversion sent along with one of the teams, I'd be all for it! Have any big connections CP? ;)

It may depend on the class/level of your ticket.....I've no idea how the local crew will run this event. You could go to www.V8supercars.com.au and look at previous event photos. They're divided into Fri, Sat, Sun usually. So you could look at photos from previous Aus and overseas rounds and see if there's members of the general public roaming around in the pits.
