How do I flush the coolent system

You must have an air pocket, did you let it run with the radiator cap off until the thermostat opened?

If not let it cool and add more coolant and make sure the overflow has at least a couple quarts in it now, as it cools it should pull coolant in.

Are your cooling fans kicking on? Any chance they didn't get plugged back in???

pull the heater hose off to let the air out , or if you had a vacuum coolant refill tool ( works very well ) ...
