What wheel/tire are you running? 28" Hoosiers should help nice and tall and sticky. Stock 292s/stall? Try launching from 2nd like Daniel maybe otherwise might need suspension $$$

28 inch Hoosier and I have suspension and all the chassis components, just might have to take a different approach , but it gets better that's all motor , I haven't even ran it on the 400 shot lol

As recommended before, you're making enough power to justify a second gear start. A 4.0 first gear is too much starting ratio for what you're trying to do. Think about why true race cars use 2 speed Powerglides with 1.7 and 1.8 first gears.

Yeah, I know u were right but I thought all motor I wouldn't have a problem.

Agreed, your just over powering the track. Go back out and do it again, your gonna be surprised how well it will leave. Parrish g8 twin turbo was the first one I saw leave in second a couple years ago at drag week, he ran 10.82 on that pass.

Have you removed your front swaybar to help move the wieght to the rear yet? If not thats something else that might help.

No but I plan on installing the two nos bottles in the back full lol

do indeed to change any tables in first gear or do anything elseYou need to launch in manual mode with the shifts set to occur automatically regardless of whether you shift on time or not. This way, you won't bang the rev limiter in manual and you can still have normal driving (in drive) whenever you're on the street.

i dont understand what u mean by that

i dont understand what u mean by thatInstead of racing in drive or sport mode, you select manual mode. After the burnout, make sure the gear indicator light is in 2nd gear. If your tuner sets the manual shifts to occur by a specific mph and rpm, your trans will shift automatically, even if you don't shift in time. Basically, it's an automatic at that point. Your tuner will have to know how to do this though. For the driver, it's all very easy. Just stab and steer.

I was just slapping from manual to drive and zeroing out down shift to 1st. And just changing tunes for track and the street. I will have to look at that.

And of course after you have made all adjustments for traction you can through susp and shocks. Then there is always adding weight in the right places . And of course air psi in your rear tire and light skinnies up front help traction also..

Already have all that too

You're spinning the wheels in the water box. That just throws water into your fenders to drip down later. My car launches fine in first gear at 3000 RPM with 3.70 gears.

Doesn't explain why it didn't hook the other two passes and I use to hook all the time

Just telling what I see. Obviously you have more power now, that just magnifies the effects of water on the tires. There's no way the tires were dry when you launched after spinning in the water like that.

Roll very slowly through the water and start your burnout just after the wet spot and I think it will work better.

How much air in your tires? You said Hoosier slicks, right?

427g8gt

Hoosiers on 15 psi. It launched at 4000 rpm. Went through four gears on the burnout.

I dunno. I'd try the burnout method I described. I think it will help.

Oh ok. Well last is weakin the tune a little or whatever it takes to not shock the tires

That's a lot. Maybe try launching a bit earlier? Gotta 2 step?

I really think most of the issue is water from the box though.

I have cut a 1.47 60ft before the suspension, chassis, upgrades and less power . So would love yo be there again

I've launched in second and once you reach 35 mph just slap the shifter to the left and your in the drive mode and let it finish its business by shifting where ever your shift points are set. Just launch it then slap it, uh sounds dirty.

It's about doing a proper burnout. I see way too many people not rolling out of the water box before doing a burnout! Do a spin to get whole tire wet. Roll out 6 ft or far enough to be completely clear. Then do your burnout.
