I know there was alot of talk about the creaking/farting sound from the dash when the recirculate button was pushed. While trying to get rid of my stinky air,I noticed in behind the cabin air filter was a trap door.Well,I'm pretty sure this is where the noise is coming from.I guess its just a matter of lubricating the hinges on both sides. Here is a quik vid I made when the button is pushed...

That would be the recirc door but I can't hear anything from the video due to the air noise I guess. There's an electric actuator that moves the door; I just listened to mine and hear the sound you're talking about. It probably is the door shaft/bearings but it's hard to tell. It doesn't sound like the actuator itself although it can make some creaking sounds as the plastic geartrain binds up as the door is sealed. I used to be responsible for design and manufacturing of these actuators. Not sure how you would lube the bearing area but I haven't looked at it really.
