I have the cutting 3/4s of the way done, but I am have having trouble cutting out the front part of the lower panel where it is raised in a cone shape, with a hole in it. Did anyone have to take off the bumper to cut around that part? Otherwise I will not be able to cut around on the front side.

I had zero problems cutting the plastic. I used a utility knife (hence the avatar and "Plastic Cutting Badass") with a sharp blade. Everyone else used some type of a power-tool.

I used an air powered cut off wheel.

Not everyone my friend ;) I used my razor knife, fairly easy job. Took maybe a minute.

You guys are so modest! My problem is the same as G8 Rays, the raised plastic with the hole in it was hard to cut around.

i presume you gain nothing by this mod if you don't use a intake something like the roto-fab

Correct, an OTR CAI will not need this free mod.

It will make a perfect place, in my opinion, for a trans cooler if you have an aftermarket torque converter.

The hole doesn't need to be huge, I avoided the notch part all together. I cut a U shape and folded back the plastic under the front section. That way I can easily return to stock (minus a couple cuts).

With the help of an engineer friend, we determined that any cut in front of the air dam by more than 2 inches is not contributing to flow anyway. Since you only have a 4 inch throttle opening, you should not need more than 14 sq inches or so. Cutting more than this is overkill, but won't hurt anything. This was just our silly guestimate, though, your results may vary...
