I don't know if this has been talked about before, but I found a great free fix for our worn out key fobs. This might have been figured out already but I just thought of it myself because mine finally wore out.
I took aprt the switch blade key fob to take the push button section out of it. I looked closely at my fixed blade spare key fob and realized they both have the same push button section in them. I bought a new 2032 battery and swaped the fixed blade push button section into my switch blade key fob. It works perfectly. I put the worn out one into the fixed blade fob because I never use it. If I have to use it in an emergency later then I'll have to push the unlock button a few times to get it to work. I can live with that.
So the swap was free, but I bought a new battery to put in it while it was already open. So the total fix was about $6. Just thought I'd put it out there if someone hasn't already.
