I might be looking into getting a DR for the rear and skinny for the front. I was thinking this combo if it would work?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MNH-ROD19/ - Rear
http://www.mandhtires.com/M-H-Front-Runner/4.5-28-17 - Front
Are the GTO spare tire wheels the only skinny rim that will fit with out modifying anything? I would like matching rims so I really dont want to buy the GTO spare rims. What are my other options that will fit our car?
Thanks
Jon

That should work and you have more options than GTO skinnies like these Weld Racing RT-S 17" wheels but they are a little pricey
http://weldracing.com/street-performance/rts-17-inch/17-in-s71-5x4-75.html
Then the 17" dragstars like whats on Shanes car (I think thats what they are called)
Bogarts and CCWs if your into spending $600 plus a wheel

Ok awesome. Ya I dont think I want to spend 600 a wheel ha. So the welds that you recommended would fit on the car without modifying anything? What is the exact sizing spec I would have to look for with the front skinnies that I have above and the rear DRs that I have above? I dont know much about tires and rims, so I appreciate all the help you can give me.
Thanks a lot!
Jon
EDIT: Would this be the correct wheel size to get? 17 in. x 4.50 in., 5 x 4.75 in. Bolt Circle, 2.20 in. Backspace
The wheels would go on the tire that I have above that has these specs:
Tread Width: 4.5"
Section Width: 6.3"
Diameter: 28.0"
Circumference: 88.0"
Rim Size: 4.0"

Yes you are correct. The welds you recommended are reasonable. I was saying that the CCWs that you mentioned that were 600 were too pricey for me.

17x4.5 1.7 backspacing -27 offset is the only one they offer and should fit nicely.
For the rear i will have to do some more looking into it something like a 17x9 9.5 or 10

Ok that is good information. right now I have the TSW nurburgrings that are 18x9.5 with a +45 offset.

Look at Shane's setup, he runs a skinny up front, 17x4.5 if I remember correctly, they might have come from summit

Racestars would have to be bought from a dealer or racestar directly

Could I go down to 16 inch without any issues? or is 17 as small as I can go? I was also thinking of going 28 inch diameter for the DR in the back and 26 inch diameter for the front runner in the front. That works, right?

As far as tires go, I have 3 options to choose from. I am trying to figure out which would be best for the car. Please help out if you can

I have Nitto 285 - 18 DR's for my G8, as well as some Hoosier 275-40 17's for my other G8. Haven't tried the Nitto's yet, as I was running them on the front of my Flex.
They were on when I beat the 2012 GS Vette stick. Really hooked up with my extra power in front due to W/M. That's right, I was running them on the front. The Nitto's weighed around 30 lbs vs the Hoosiers at 22 lbs. Ran the Nitto's on TSW Interlagos, which are light like your Nurburgrings. Hoosiers are on Borbet 9 1/2 wheels off a TA.
My experience with the Hoosiers was that they hooked up so well that I had to get a Circle D converter! My 12.5 was without the converter and with severe bogging last Oct...
Been too hot to race this summer.

I think I really like the Race Star Dark Star rims. What is the difference between:
DSD - Direct Drilled = 17x4.5, 5x4.75, 1.75", 3.07, -25 offset and 17x9.5, 5x4.75, 7.00", 3.07, 44 offset
DDS = 17x4.5 5x4.5 / 5x4.75, 2.25", 3.07, -13 offset and 17x9.5, 5x4.5 / 5x4.75, 7.00", 3.07, 51 offset
DS = 17x4.5 5x4.5 / 5x4.75, 1.75", 3.07, -25 offset and 17x9.5, 5x4.5 / 5x4.75, 7.00", 3.07, 44 offset
Which ones would I get?
Thanks
