I'm doing this write up because I've seen a few Squash pump setup write ups, however, mine is different from what I've seen so I figured I'd share.

HISTORY: my car is a TT GXP. I quickly started running out of fuel once I hit 550+whp

I called up Andy aka Squash and let know what I had and what my goal was and he recommended a twin 340 return style setup. I asked him to source ALL the necessary parts for the upgrade. He said that wouldn't be a problem. Sounded good to me so I placed the order. Also, I sent him the extra fuel pump/sending unit assembly I had sitting around.

A few weeks later I received a large box of goodies that included:

Squash twin 340 setup (assembled with my bucket)
Aeromotive fuel rails
Aeromotive FPR
Russell fuel filter
Russell check valve
10' of Russell pro classic -6 and 10ft -8
A big bag of Russell, black, -6 & -8 AN fittings
2 fittings for the factory fuel line (converted to return)
random clamps and small stuff that I can't remember

I also ordered a set of ID850s from a user on the forums DSteck

The box sat around for about 2-3 weeks before I had any time to mess with. Before I started messing with anything I ordered 10' more of the -8 pro classic hose just because I wanted to have plenty. Glad I did. I ended up using 15' or so.

Once I finally had some time I started.

The first order of business was to find a place to mount my FPR. I mounted it on the drivers side shock tower. Once I had it mounted, I started running the -6 lines that would feed and exit the regulator. I didn't actually install anything, just wanted to do what I could before actually taking the car out of service.

A few days later I finally made it up to my friends shop. Once you start removing stuff for the fuel system install it's all or nothing. Once you start, you have to finish. At this point I dove in and installed the new fuel rails, the ID850s and did the final assembly on the -6 lines under the hood. I also installed the fittings for the factory fuel line and ran the -6 from the FPR to the fuel line which is now my return. I ran out of time so the car stayed til I could come back.

On sat I came back to the shop with limited time. My goal was to start installing the -8 feeds to the fuel rails and then work backwards from there to the tank. I managed to run the -8 to the rails, snake the line through the fender wells and get the filter and check valve installed. This all took a little time because I'm making all the lines as I go. A lot of measuring, cutting and fitting installing!

....continued

The car sat until Monday before I could get back to work on it. This would be the day I would finish it up.

First order of business was to install the new pump assemble and finish the lines that would run to the top of the fuel hat. -8 feed was first. After finishing that I tackled the -6 return. I installed the fuel line fitting on the end of the factory fuel line and tried to plumb it to the top of the hat only to find out I was about 2" short of -6 line! Damnit!!!!!

I managed to find some stainless braided -6 laying around the shop and was able to make the necessary hose for the return to the hat. This is the only stainless line in i made the whole system.

I got everything installed but since I'm a wiring dummy, my friend did the wiring for me, which took him all of about 30min. Andy provided the necessary relays and wires. It was pretty painless. I don't have any pics of the wiring. The pump assembly in the pic is just a stock photo from Squash performance. I never actually took a pic of mine. It's the same as shown except with 340s. The pic has 255s I believe.

Once everything was wired up I did a quick double check on all the fittings for tightness and cranked the car up. Took a second to prime the system, but fired right up! I was a little impressed because there were no leaks and everything seemed to be working fine! This was the first time I've ever fabricated lines or plumbed up a fuel system. I almost paid to have it done but I'm glad I didn't. It wasn't that hard at all. I did most of the work with the car on jack stands. I used a lift the last day, mainly when routing the return line.

We got the car on the dyno and did some tuning. The car was rich and we were seeing a big dip once the boost came in around 3500rpm. We got the AF straightened out but had to pull a lot of timing out due to knock. By this point it was 11pm and everyone was tired. We got the car running pretty decent with a good solid AF and left it at 15* of timing (I believe). I'll be installing a meth kit ASAP, but for now the car is parked because I'm going on vacation TODAY! Car will be back on the dyno as soon as I get back. Final numbers for last night are 584whp/580ish tq @ 8psi.

Drove the car home and it feels solid! Before the fuel system I was losing fuel pressure and the car felt like garbage up top. Now it pulls hard all the way through. Can't wait to get some meth, timing and boost into the car in a few weeks.

Ha, no doubt. Daniel was available via text many times throughout this install. His help was invaluable. I stole the line through the fender well from him!!

Andy aka Squash put together a very comprehensive kit for me and helped me out as well!

DSteck sourced me the injectors while he was on vacation in Alaska!

Appreciate your help guys!

Ive had a lot of help with my car on these boards so I made this thread to try and contribute back!

Here is an awesome layout Andy did for me that pretty much made it idiot proof. I made some changes but pretty much did it just like this:

um 30psi? On a V8? yeah I dont think so. Even best built motor would not hold together. 30psi+ are for 4 or 6cyl cars
