Holden Special Vehicles is a market leader in the automotive industry. We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Buyer, who will be based at our head office in Clayton.
The Procurement Team is an integral part of the HSV business, its major focus areas are:
Providing a structured approach to purchasing and procurement of parts and services
Supplier performance monitoring and development with the focus on quality and cost deliverables
Cost management with the focus on eliminating waste
You will build and maintain relationships with suppliers and external stakeholders ensuring you understand and meet the needs of the business whilst keeping strategic focus.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
Process and issue business orders
Source allocated commodities
Expediting of RFQs, new part tooling programs & PPAPs
Evaluation and recommendation of new OE parts
Assist in the control & implementation of new material support
Update BAAN and Beacon database systems
Manage business partner relationships to ensure compliance
Action & resolution of materials group BAAN issues
Preparation & presentation of reports to Management
Ensure appropriate standards of professionalism are maintained
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Have strategic procurement experience
At least 3 years experience (Broad automotive exp preferred)
Program management experience (desirable)
Technical, commercial an analytical aptitude
Good knowledge of MRP and Purchasing systems
Meticulous organisation and follow up skills
Computer literate with good numeric skills
Be tertiary qualified in Supply, Purchasing or Materials Management (preferred)
Have a strong understanding of best practice purchasing
This is a diverse position where you will be expected to have a flexible approach, be accountable and be a high achiever. A background in automotive, component driven, spare parts or alike would be highly advantageous.
