View Full Version : Anyone been to Montgomery Motorsports Park?

I am looking at taking the car to the track soon, and Montgomery looks like the closest 1/4 mile. Just wondering if anyone has been there and had good or bad experiences. Thanks.

I've been there many times over the years. It's an awesome track. It's very clean and well run/operated.
It's about an hour from my house to there, so I used to go all the time when I had my turbo GTP. I haven't taken the G8 there yet. I also have another 1/4 track about 45 min north of me and the two times I've been with the G8 I have gone there. But it's more expensive and not run as well as MMP is. But it is a bit closer to me.

Thanks Dave. I'm glad to hear its a good track. I would hate to drive 2 hours to a crappy track. I was hoping to go up there tonight, but I think I'm going to have to wait for another night. After my crappy dyno numbers, I'm hoping the car will be able to redeem itself on the track.

No problem! Yes it's a very good track. Would be great to be able to meet you there sometime, although I plan on waiting until fall to run my car again. Here's a vid shot from the tech tower at the track, to give you an idea of what the track looks like. I was in the silver GTO, the blue one was the one taking 5 seconds to shift lol.

Its alright, I can't figure out how to do this stuff half the time either. Yeah, it would be great to meet up some time. Especially for me, since I might be able to learn from your track experience. I've been to the track before but never raced. I'm sure you will b pulling me by a bit, but either way I wouldn't care. I might try and get out to the closer 1/8 track to get some practice launching, but 1/4 mile time is more important to me. I'm about to start training again so it might be hard to make it up there, but I will definitely let you know when I do. Or, if you plan on heading there, I can try and make it. I have yet to meet anyone with a modded G8 since I've been down here.

Yea it would be great to meet up! I will send you a pm when I go there next. It will likely be a good 3 months, but I will definitely let you know. I'm sure my buddy also with a cammed g8 gt will also come.

Sounds good. I will let you know when I make a trip as well, in case you feel like heading out there. It would be great to get a few G8s running down the track.

Lol that's why I didnt also mention you because I didn't know if you'd want to make the drive, but then again you ARE the 75k mile a year driving man! ;)

Steele is about as far as I will go, an that's about 2 hrs for me. U need to come up there when Dave, rich, and I make plans to go. Prob will be a cts-v tuned and couple turbo 5.3 fbody camaros as well!! Should be fun with some fast cars!

Man, thats like 4 hours from here. I doubt I would be able to do that on a Friday. Maybe if I got off work at 4, I could be there by 9. I'm about to start flight school and my schedule is going to be pretty strict. Who knows though, sometimes with bad weather or holidays I might be able to make that trip.

Yeah, I will pretty much be in class for the next year once things get rolling. I will have a few breaks in there. Hopefully we can all get out together sometime.

So they are racing at MMP into Dec? I thought I read somewhere that 11/22 was their last TnT night for the year?
