Are they still available?
Yes.
If something is not available (even temporarily) then there will be mention made in the thread.
If a deal is finished forever then the entire thread will be closed.

Is shipping cost done by weight alone or is size included? Just wondering if its better to order everything at once (like this kit and a leather arm rest) to save some shipping cost.

Cost is on weight alone. Dimensions just have to be within maximum limits. Destination ZIP doesn't matter.

In the example given you wouldn't save on shipping because the sizes of the 2 items dont compliment each other.
ie:
GXP Kit is like 6x7x33" with no wasted space inside.
Armrest is like 3x9x14" or so with no wasted space inside.
There's a max length limit of 41" involved, preventing making 1 long box.
Too much wasted space to lay them side by side in 1 long & wide box.

Thanks Paul, I was just wondering if I could save some money by getting it all at once but it looks like it will not matter.

I hit a raccoon at a pretty high speed last night, thus accelerating my own plan to put a new facia on my car. There are some other parts I'd be interested in though, because of the damage...

The yellow and blue arrows point to a radiator hose that got broken in the accident. How much would that be, if you have it available?
The fog light got cracked too.
Red arrow points to part of the raccoon (I don't think he fared very well, all things considered)
green arrows point to lots of new "patina"

The car is Pacific Slate Blue, if that matters any.

Max GM Retail on the tube is US$114, you might find it online for $70 + shipping. It's an awkward thing to ship, you won't want to be getting it from Australia surviving in one piece.

It is the A/C line that he needs not the trans cooler as I see it.

All these parts can be ordered through your dealer.

Tape up both end of the broken AC line so you do not get debris or moisture in the system until you get it fixed, if you were local to me I could fix it for you.

Holden don't sell the GXP front fascia in Aus. Even if they did the shipping cost would blow your mind.

I bought the bumper parts kit from CP back in July, but I waited months before getting the actual fascia trying to wait for a deal to pop up. Once I seen the price drop down to the 200's at GMPartsDirect and I ordered the bumper, but a few hours later I got an email saying the price was incorrect. They offered to give me like 10% off the actual price, but it was still more than the cheapest place I knew at the time so I cancelled. I ended up ordering from Summit Racing. It was $711.90 shipped to my door. The biggest annoyance is it took a month for them to get it. They were going to deliver it on Thursday or Friday, but I was busy during the FedEx residential truck freight delivery window both days. They are bringing it tomorrow. I can update once I receive it and make sure it is the correct item, not damaged, etc...if you care.

I've been kind of eyeing doing the conversion myself because my fascia is split. I'd be interested in seeing the fascia from Summit.

It's a GM part shipped to Summit from them then to me. Shouldn't be any different than what you'd get if you order from a local dealer or an online parts dealer like GMPartsDirect.

Confirmed. Summit is selling the OEM part, made down under! Took about a month from order to delivery. Total cost was $711.90.

When I type that number in to Summit it says it's for the BASE or GT model and it's $599.95

Yea, I was a bit concerned about that at first and the fact that the part pictured is a GXP diffuser, lol. It is indeed what you see in the pic above though. I think the description is the way it is because it's being advertised as an "upgrade."

Hey if you can get it for $711 shipped I will be the first to tell you that is a great price. I think they are loosing money on the deal unless they are getting one hell of a discount on freight shipments.
My cost on that is right at $640.00 add in the 3% CC fees that adds another $20. So $660.00 figure at least $100.00 to ship a box that big depending on address.

We usually charge 15% to 20% over GM cost to members. GM retail is about 65% OVER GM cost on this item. $1066.75 :)

So I guess even at a cost I would have to get OK'd by the boss $705.00 you would still need to add shipping.

I might jump on this Paul, as my front bumper is still cracked from when tbe clown backed into me, pushing my car into the concrete barrier in front of the parking spot.

So $250 for these parts plus $711 for the bumper. Ill PM you in a bit about y your parts and maybe a gxp diffuser.

Was the bumper already in stock? If so, maybe it was old stock acquired while the price was still low. I know I paid just over $700 for mine. :( Just dropped it off at the paint shop yesterday. The whole thing was a lot more expensive than I anticipated and I kind of wish I would have gone through insurance now. Stupid construction cone in the middle of the freeway. :(

Is this a gt front bumper conversion?

waltjrUM
03-06-2013, 07:27 PM
Is this a gt front bumper conversion?

Yep. The first post lists the "accessory" pieces you need MINUS the parts that will transfer from your existing GT bumper. It also lists the part numbers for the actual bumper cover, 4 screws, and 4 nuts that are NOT included in the kit being sold. The parts not included need to be purchased separately from a US source.

I just picked up my car from the paint shop yesterday from doing this conversion. Saved some coin by buying this kit, but overall it was expensive due to the rising cost of the bumper cover.

Summit Racing had it the cheapest at the time and probably still is. If you Google the part number their site should be one of the top hits. It was $711 and change shipped to my door, unpainted.

Just an FYI Prestige Bumpers are selling the bumpers, fairly cheap and quick to ship. Waiting on mine now, ordered it the 20th. Expected to ship in 4 days.

Paid $560 to my door - but it was refurbished.

You're misunderstanding this thread for 2 reasons:
1) The actual bumper cover is not being sold as a part of this kit.
2) When you source any "brand new" GXP bumper whether it be from a dealer or another retailer that gets the bumper directly from GM, it will come unpainted. You will need to have an auto body shop or other professional paint it for you, in which case you can have them paint it any color you like.

This thread is essentially offering the important accessory pieces that are needed to convert from a GT bumper to a GXP bumper. The only additional pieces needed are the actual bumper cover and a few small fasteners, which can be obtained from your local dealer.

Freight costs a fortune on something as large as a bumper.
Get it from as close to your house as you can find one.
Search Forums and internet using the Part Number.
