I have looked all over. I cant find any drag radials for my car? What drag radial and size is everyone running? I have looked at all 265s and 275s in 17s and 18s. I cant go wider thatn 275 and I dont see a point going more narrow than 265. I wanted to try and keep the tire diameter around 26.5 or so. The closest tire I found was the MT ET Streets in 26x11.5x17, but even thats pretty short.

Thanks
Jon

The Nitto nt05r's are shorter (25.6), I had them. Options are very limited in DR's for 17s. One of the reasons I went ahead and went to a slick, Hoosier 28x10x17...

Most common is the 275 nitto nt05r. I ran 295/40/17 Mickey Thompson ER street radial II on my 17. It's a fat ass tire.

I'm now running 305/35/19 Mickey Thompsons on my ctsv 9.5" rears.

I tried a 275/40/17 Nitto NT05R, it is a good tire, seems to need to be warmed up a little more than others, it just wasn't enough for my level of low end HP/TQ because of the blower. I think they would work great on your hp level and since it is cammed so the power comes mostly on the higher end. You do have a stall and lower gears though, I just sold mine that had been used at the track twice

Ya I'm debating . After talking with my tuner, we have decided that I could run a taller tire with success. I know there are many options of 27-27.5 inch tall tires

Ok even looking at 265s and 275s in a 27 - 27.5 inch diameter is getting me no luck. Is anyone running a 28.00 inch diameter tire? I did find a 26.5 inch diameter MT ET Street, but its 265. Do you guys thing a 265 MT ET Street Drag Radial will bite better than a 275 Nitto NTO5 street tire?

I just took my new (to me) MT 26 x 11.5 x 17 to the track last night and they hooked awesomely.

I have been running a 265/40/18 MT and they hook very well on the street and we are procharged. I might go to a Nitto soon though for longevity.

I'm currently at 500 rwhp/465 tq. I was pulling 1.79 to 1.83 60's, but I am positive I can cut that down quite a bit more now that I trust the tires.

Just to clarify a little, I had such a horrible time on street tires, that these times are all leaving off idle. I ran out if time to see what I could cut loading the converter.

Which tires would you think would work better?

Mickey Thompson ET Streets - 265/40/18 at 26.5 inch diameter

or

M&H Roadmaster Drag Radials - 275/45/18 at 28 inch diameter http://www.mandhtires.com/M-H-Drag-Radials/275-45R18

Unless you have a power adder go with the 26. The 28 will slow u down unless u add more gear.

The only reason why I was considering 28 inches is bc I am high up in the RPM range in 4th gear. Iim thinking maybe a 28 inch tire could help me cross the finish line around 6000 or 6200 instead of 6700 or so

do they rub? I am ordering a 285/40/18 on an aftermarket 18x9 and hoping they do not rub. We are stock height as welll.

Stock height, I know Mike from New Era ran a tire up to 28.5 inches with success. I am lowered. Im not sure if I can go 28. If I can, I may go that route
