What do you guys think? I'm usually not a fan of the wire mesh grille but I like it here. I also dig the clear lens sidemarkers on the headlamps.. looks sharp IMO. More info here: Cadillac ATS-V (http://ats-v.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20)

They butchered the ATS itself using current V parts....it looks like a cobbled mess!

For performance, yes. As a DD.. no. The ATS-V is meant to compete with the M3 and C63 AMG not GMs non-luxury offerings. And the ZL1 is a pig. The ATS-V is going to run fairly similar times to the ZL1. You're looking at 580 HP/4150lbs in the ZL1 and likely 450HP/3600lbs in the ATS-V. And neither the Vette nor ZL1 give you the features or comforts that the ATS-V. Such as:

With GM reporting highest sales in 33 months in May, Cadillac ATS may be on dealer lots sooner rather than later (http://ats-v.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=105&p=188#p188)

General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) today reported May sales of 245,256 vehicles in the United States, up 11 percent year over year and the highest monthly total since August 2009 when dealers delivered 246,479 units. GM retail sales were up 14 percent year-over-year and the retail mix was 70 percent. Fleet sales increased 3 percent. Buick and GMC both reported sales increases of 19 percent and Chevrolet was up 10 percent.

Sales of GM small and compact cars were up 16 percent in May versus a year ago, driven by the new Chevrolet Sonic, which had sales of 7,205 units, and the new Buick Verano, with 3,609 sales, which has increased sales every month since launch.

Combined sales of all seven Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac crossovers were up 14 percent versus a year ago. The Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain continue to stand out, with sales up 15 percent and 20 percent, respectively.

Full-size pickup sales were up 23 percent year over year, mid-size pickup sales were up 34 percent and full-size SUVs were up 14 percent.

“GM’s sales in May were the highest in almost three years and we are poised to keep delivering good news for the U.S. economy with one of the most aggressive new product offenses in our history,” said Don Johnson, vice president, U.S. Sales Operations. “About 70 percent of our nameplates will be new or freshened over the course of 2012 and 2013 and that positions us very well as the industry and GM start to approach pre-recession sales levels.”

This summer, Chevrolet will launch the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu four-cylinder and the Chevrolet Spark, while Cadillac will launch the XTS large luxury sedan and ATS compact luxury sedan.

The Cadillac XTS went into production in May and cars are expected to begin arriving in showrooms in June. The XTS and ATS will complement the Cadillac CTS sedan and coupe, the SRX crossover and the Escalade sport utility vehicle. Cadillac’s total sales reflect a planned 82 percent decrease in fleet sales.

I don't see a whole lot of G35 in there. Basically all it is is an ATS with a V grille, CTS-V wheels and a more aggressive lower front fascia. Which probably will be pretty realistic to how the real ATS-V looks if you look at the CTS vs the CTS-V. Hopefully for the ATS-V they find a way to incorporate some halos into the headlights

Was able to get some inside info yesterday on the specs of the 2013 ATS. Refer to the chart below for leaked info. Lots more info can be found here (everything under chart has already been released):

2013 ATS touts class-leading Performance Technology (http://ats-v.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=114)

"When equipped with Brembo brakes, ATS’s estimated stopping distance from 60-0 mph of 129 feet is among the best in the class. On race tracks, that equates to less time spent in a slow corner; on public roads, shorter stopping distances can reduce the damage caused in a collision or prevent one altogether.

“Performance, safety and style are the trademarks of all Brembo high-performance brake systems, whether on the road or on the track” stated Dan Sandberg, president and CEO of Brembo North America. “With the Cadillac ATS, we see a perfect example of how Brembo’s advanced..MORE (http://ats-v.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=114)"

That ATS-V pic looks photoshoped from a CTS-V. I'm keeping my eye on this car though.

Costs too much, same price as a M3 and C-63 amg, gee which one do I go with?. Has auto 6 where even Chrysler has moved to the 8 speed. No stick? Nice I guess for someone else, theres at least 200 cars in front of it in my world(Joe's World)

I can't speak much for the V until I see the real thing in person. As for the regular ATS, I saw it at the auto show and it looked better in person than in any of the pics I've seen. I just think the price point is too high on all the versions of it(It's priced too close to the CTS), and the 2.5 liter might as well not exist. It seems wasteful to make a version that has such a slight improvement in mpg over the turbo.

It's funny you say that because the latest specs from Cadillac have the 2.5L and 2.0T rated at the same MPGs (although not yet confirmed by the EPA).

Let's get one thing straight; the 2013 Cadillac ATS is not a super-car. It is not going to propel you from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. It is not going to zip James Bond around while conveniently dodging rocket-propelled grenades and machine gun equipped helicopters in his next feature film. If your personal image of this car includes you hopping out of the driver's seat, doors opening Lambo-style as you enter the club with your model girlfriend, you may want to stop reading now.

But all this just provides a stronger argument as to why this car is the most exciting new car of the 2013 model year...FULL PREVIEW (http://ats-v.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&p=277#p277)

I'd buy the V6 version and find a way to put turbos on it! lol

Honestly, I'd probably buy the V6 and run it down the road as a reliable DD like I do my G8. 5.4 seconds to 60 isn't bad... Hell of a lot better than a Regal GS which IMO is bad ass looking but FWD and low power puts it out of the running for me.

Why do they refuse to put a manual trans in the most powerful version. Big fail.

Why do they refuse to put a manual trans in the most powerful version. Big fail.

From what I've read about the XTS 6 speed Auto, GM has sped the shifts up and down CONSIDERABLY over past transmissions and reviewers compare them to dual clutch transmissions in the BMW's and such. My guess is that they'd have the same trans between the two of them. I would like a manual too, except when it's colder than a witches tit and I want to remote start my car... That's when an auto is nice. Unfortunately that's a lot here in IA.

Took the ATS V-6 AWD premium edition on a 20 mile test drive yesterday afternoon. You can say what you will about the styling but as far as drivability goes this car is right up there with the best available. The tap shifts quickly maybe not dual clutch quick but quick. Mag shocks handled the potholes well and the car tracks well at speed on a nice curvy road (Groat Rd for anyone around Edmonton) . Engine responds quickly and feels faster than the 5.6 to 60 I've seen quoted. Cue works but is 1st generation slow. HUD is unobtrusive. Brakes are A1. Back seat is BMW3 size. Just enough headroom and legroom unless the driver is 6' plus then the legroom is tight. Trunk is small. One golf bag and a suitcase. Don't think you can get two full size suitcases in it. Fit and finish are right up there. Gaps were good all around and there were no groans or rattles. GM Canada's canuck pricing is out of whack as usual. This one listed for over $58K . The AWD option alone adds more than 3K when its only $900 down south. If they could find a way to drop $10K out of the price it would be in my driveway. The turbo 4 is about $3K less but I don't think I would go there. The 2.5 is a non issue. I think when they build the next camaro off this platform it could be great.
Just my opinion eh...

I had a blast with the ATS 3.6 at the CTS-V Lab event in Chicago last year.

It was a lot of fun!
