I'm planning on getting the vms tune next month but i'm thinking about buying the ecm outright, so when i take it in for any warrenty work in the future i can just switch the ecm out (one of the tech at the pontiac dealerships told me thats a good way to go to not void the warrenty). I also want to get the tcm tune but i have to use the flash xpress cable to tune it, i was wondering will the dealership know that i tune my tcm or is that just with the ecm? I don't want to void my warrenty. thanks for any info

If you put the stock ecm in you will be OK with the tcm tune.

You can also pay a bit more and get his stealth TCM tune. I didn't but you can! I have the extra ECM too.

Someone was selling one used here or at boards...:)

You will need a case relearn with a new ecm however. Once it's done you can swap back and forth and not need to do it again.

I may be in the same boat as antonio31 with getting a replacement ecm. I just received my dash hawk so I should be good to go with doing a case relearn right?
I'm still on the fence between doing the vector tune (having it e-mailed to me) or going with a local shop that uses DHP. Trying to get a hold of Kirk now to answer some question to help me decide.

Yes, Dashhawk can do the relearn.

Sweet, I thought so. Thanks wreckwiter.

Yeah it's super easy! Just make sure when it says to hold RPM's at 3000-5000 you just bounce it off the 4000rpm limiter. (not joking)

The ECU limmits RPM to 4000 when not moving.

That's what I did, but in the 10 months I had the car it never needed to go to the dealer for anything. I hope the 2009 is as good. :p
