Hey guys, I got my nice fancy silicone radiator hoses from Jettstream the other day and hope to get them installed soon. Trying to decide on proper clamps/ends now.

Normally its recommended to use a t-bolt clamp since the inside is smooth but I really have my heart set on magna-clamps like this:

I was thinking I could cut a few bands out of a bicycle tube and put those under the clamps to keep the silicone from extruding into the cutout in the clamp. Anyone got a better idea or think this would not work?

I don't think the silicone will extrude all that much unless you really overtighten the clamp. I had regular hose clamps on silicone couplers on my GTP intake, never really had an issue with it. Now the rad hoses might be different because they are gonna get hotter.

Ask Mike at Jettstream what he thinks..I am sure he knows how susceptible the silicone is to that....

Those are some nice looking clamps though..would really look nice.

Mike says I should use the t-bolt clamps. I'm hard-headed though.....

The only thing I'm worried about is that the bike tube might not stand up to the temperature.
