As we start adding converters and upping our HP with cams, LT headers, etc I think we're going to find problems with launches. I'm already seeing significant spin at the track without these items.

Drag radials are not an option for those of us with 19" wheels, at least not yet, nor are slicks. I expect I'll end up changing wheels but would like to avoid that as long as possible.

Anyone got ideas?

A set of 17s or 18s and DRs. I will have 2 sets for the back. I have been down the drive with DRs all the time and wont go that route on a daily driver.

Fortunately we've got a huge trunk ;) You can probably get a set of 16" rims with slicks in there to take to the track.

16s will only clear the V-6 brakes in rear. I talked to 2 different Aussies to make sure.

so could we get a set of gto 17" wheels and throw some 275/40 r17 mickey thompson radials on them? is offset/BC the same?

They would be too short. I did find 27x10.5 17s though! Right on the money!

nah, not too short, it would be like an instant gear swap :D

With a cam it might work, but if we shift into 4th now, I dont think we can trap over 5200ish and that means slow ETs

Got 8?

Even w/ a raised shift point you think they'll be too short??? I haven't taken the time to do the math yet.

Anyone know what Tune Time ran for slicks or even if they did ???

Stock is 5800. Mine was 6200 with 19s and in 3rd gear it put you through the traps almost at the limiter. You can raise higher, but without a cam it doesn't make much sense.

I guess I don't get it, 4th wouldn't hurt being it is not an over drive ratio. I could see if it made it shift to 5th, but i dont see 4th being an issue personally...

From what I have logged multiple times and Mike @ New Era, there is a .2 loss going into 4th gear.

Yes sir!! I fit my M/Ts for my TA, a jack w/ handle, and stands in there last time I went to the track!
