I was wondering, being a future G8 owner, is the 100K mile powertrain warranty good no matter the source of the purchase? Meaning, if I buy from a private seller, am I able to go to a GM dealer and have any possible issues repaired under warranty?

Yes it is transferable, I am my cars second owner and have had a lot of warranty work done. I purchased mine at a used lot.

Just make sure it's not voided warranty due to tune or other aftermarket mods that may have been done by previous owners. It's worth maybe having a dealer run the VIN to make sure it's not blacklisted.
Most likely it's ok but if you are concerned it will give you piece of mInd.

Ok, i have been calling around different dealership in the states surrounding and have been inquiring about the warranty as bjhayes had suggested and every dealer states the 100K mile warranty is only good until 2014? Am I hearing this right?

Does the time start by model year? i.e. 2008's warranty ends 2013? or all 100K or by 2014?

Starts by delivery date. Ask a dealer to run a "VIS", that'll give the exact date. You'll need your VIN to get this done. If you can't get it done, PM me tomorrow, I'll do it for you.
