There is a thread on here with a ton of info about oil and filters..I use Mobil 1 with a Mobil 1 or a Bosch filter..I think 8.8 quarts.

I generally wait for Mobil 1 to go on sale at the big box store and then pick up any reasonable quality oil filter to go along with it.
And yep, 8.8 qts is the correct fill amount with filter.

K&N HP-1017 oil filter, Mobil1 5W-30... my oil/filter changes are good for a year or 15k miles, whichever comes first.
Edit: forgot to mention, 9 quarts even.

Castrol Edge and acdelco UPF48R. A little ticked at Castrol. The old Edge is now Edge titanium and costs more. I have enough of the old Edge for one more change.

Sounding like a broken record(anyone remember them?)
Mobil 1 and filter, gets dumped every 4k.
Have considered switching just to try others, but don't want to resurrect the great oil debate....

Absolutely "nothing but" Pennzoil Ultra!!! I got to see the "independent 3rd party oil analysis" results comparing Mobil 1 and Ultra (I work for Shell). We were visiting the Lubes Technology Labs in Houston and the lead researchers gave us a briefing on the results.
Nevertheless, I think the Marketing folks are going to go public with the results. That Ultra stuff is the best stuff out there.

Mobile 1 5W30 and a Fram Xtended Guard filter. Changed at 10K mile intervals. If you are changing Mobile 1 every 3-4K miles, you are just throwing away money.

I'd also point out that the oil life indicators on our rides, in my experience, are pretty much dead on. If you're changing your oil when the OLI is saying you have 50% life left you're being overly aggressive with changes. The only time I went against the OLI recommendation was when I had my DOD delete & cam put in.
As for those stupid "3 month or 3k miles" stickers on your windshield... that's the first thing I throw in the trash when I get the car back. I trust the OLI and I know my filter choice is good for it.

I change at 25% life left on the OLM... which turns out to be approx. 7500 mile. So 10k would be the full OLM oil run for me. I trust the Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 could easily go 10k, but I drive the gxp very hard and in stop and go traffic every day. Trans. temps. in excess of 190 deg. after a half hour in stop and go. 8qts. AC, Purolator, Pure-One, NAPA, or other basic filter except Fram Orange can.
You should change at a min. of once per year reguardless of mileage.
Ultra may be used in the future for 10k changes??

Mobil 1 Oil+Filter
5-6k (regardless of the DIC)
Local Lube Oil Filter shop is run by a Ex-GM ASE that loves my car and babies it like it was his own so I let him do the work.

Amsoil Signature oil, Ea filter, 10K.
IMHO, you guys using using Fram are playing Russian Roulette with 2 or 3 rounds in the cylinder. Almost all of the Frams are cardboard and very flimsy. DOD has enough issues when it's getting clean oil, let alone stuff that has ripped the filter apart and is circulating unfettered and unfiltered..... check out bobistheoilguy.com.

You would think by now that they would have improved their oil filters. I have heard nothing but bad things as long as I can remember, and have never used a Fram filter ever.
