A) If it wasn't silver I'd say do it, B) Look at maintenance cost because they can be very high, not sure how much money you came into, but I remember hearing brake jobs were like $10k when they came out. I'm sure it's become cheaper since then. C) If you can afford it, go for it but not silver .... lol.

*EDIT*

I found the car you are looking at. I won't post price in case that's a privacy you wanted but I know someone asked mileage. Seems this is an almost brand new car. I think you can get a better deal personally. Your money your choice though.

Why don't you look at a 2013 GT500?

My broher in law works for Nissan as a mechanic. You may be able to aford the car but the maintence cost is unbelieveable! All get out of fluids to be changed regularly etc. He said people have for about a yr then sell because of the cost to maintain or lose warranty. I love the car, but for someone else, I would get something else....

Nice thought but I'd use that 27k check for a mustang and never look back.

I'd grab a Caddy CTS-V and never look back...
The hold on the ZL1's would have me concerned... And I'd never consider a ZR1... no room...

The Cadillac Vs are a great choice. If room is not an issue, I would encourage you to test drive a ZR1

It IS worth noting that maintenance costs on the GT-R are ridiculous. Transmission fluid is something like $100/quart. That said, they are amazing machines. I see you're taking my suggestion to get a "V6". ;)

By a used 2011 mustang GT or a used 10+ GT500. And spend less money with mods and be able to crush it. But that's me.

Samsung Galaxy 2-better then your iPhone..

You could spend 40k on a used V10 BMW M5.

The Mustang is fast, but the GT-R is also built to corner. Mind, the Mustang can be kitted up with a Griggs Racing suspension to put the power down through the twisties. But out of the box, the GT-R is more than just straight-line speed.

V. If I want to blow a hundred on a quart of fluid it better be for a hot worth owning-Ferrari.

Offering up my unsolicited opinion, I'd have a hard time spending that much on a GM car that sells itself as luxurious. The driveline I'd trust to 200,000 miles. But my Pontiac developed rattles and the like pretty quickly, and they bugged me. But in a $70,000 car, they'd make me downright homicidal. The Corvette I wouldn't hold to that same standard of interior precision because it's a sports car, and it makes compromises to achieve that sporting capability. But the V? Different story.

V wagon or AMG twin turbo wagon( About Both I read an article, they are each divisions most prestigious- least sold car) the AMG was 79 feet ahead of the V wagon in a 1/4 mile race, both hit 121 in the 1/4....

Then just start with a Boss. Already has suspension to handle. And still spend half as much.

Well, Im just going by his 3 car list and the only Vette was a ZR1. A Vette isn't practical for many due to kids etc...but while many would go Z06...I would get a Grand Sport all day...or the V wagon.

D'oh, I missed his list! Out of that list... Yes, V wagon.

I'm with you there on the Grand Sport, though. Centennial Package + manual, with the MRC and dry-sump-equipped LS3? I would be all over that if I could be. It's basically a Z06 plus some weight and down some power, but also down $20k.

Used C6Z 38k-42k less 27k = better lol
Not a bad idea. You'd want to stick with models newer than 2008 (I think), though. Specifically, the models that have the larger dry sump tank to help with oil starvation issues. The first two or three years of the Z06 had a reduced sump tank and had issues with oil starvation on hard cornering. Once GM rolled the changes they'd made for the ZR1 into the Z06, those problems went away.

Mind, if you never plan on going to a road course, there's no point.

... Which really brings this conversation down to a single question: what do you intend to do with the car, Vic? The GT-R, the ZR1, and even the ZL1 are all impressively powerful, but they're cars that are built to corner. If you're only ever going to hit up a drag strip, they're a waste, and I agree that a Mustang will serve you better for MUCH cheaper.

Though even for road course use, if you intend to perform HPDE's, you'll reach the point where to go faster, you have to lose the fear of putting your car into a wall. And that's going to be darn hard with a $50,000+ car.

So... Audi A4 Avant and save the money for a rainy day?

Road course for beginners lol..GTR will be a beast around the track and straight line..it won't be a daily driver just my weekend warrior..I race for money here in NYC and the GTR has $$ written all over for .. It's a easy car to drive and drag race..we usually race 10sec Hondas-Small block ford or Chevys etc...I need something I can win with and a stick car is not in the best interest in racing at the street..GTR or the ctsv wagon for sleepers

Plus about 10K for twin turbo install. Easy 8-9 seconds beast that would destroy a GTR for a lot less money.

Nonsense!! Turn the boost down with a boost controller and it would be fine for a DD, then when it matters turn the boost up and whoop some ass. Twin turbos don't make a car less streetable, big cams and high stalls do that. Traction would be an issue thats for sure, but I also have that problem, I DD my car and its definitely not useless. lol. Plus the OP already said this would be a weekend warrior not a DD
