This forum or any other forum. 10% maybe? Less? It's an interesting thought because people will look at the comments/problems that we talk about and think that we represent the population of G8s. When really 10% of all the cars on the road isn't remotely close enough to scratch the surface of a good sample size.

I have friends who come to me and ask my opinion about cars. Especially lately a lot of people who ask me about Audi's who historically have TERRIBLE reliability problems. But they always say, "I have a friend who has one and hasn't had any problems." As if the one person is big enough sample size to really make an educated declaration of one car's reliability.

So my question is how many of us are here (or another G8 forum) as opposed to how many G8s on the road?

I have no idea, but i did thinking something similar in regards to performance mods - how many g8 owners are actually trying to get over 400 or even 500 rwhp? If you were to look at our members it seems like almost everyone wants to, but I bet if you were to run into a dozen g8 owners on the street who don't visit the forums most will be happy with the car 'as-is'..

My guess is 5-10% go to forum and maybe 20% of those do mods. Less than 10% of non-forum folks mod.

I think if you are on 1 or more forums you are probably modding. There are some that visit when they have a problem just to become more informed.

Yeah I think you all are pretty spot on. My car was easily modded (Subaru Legacy GT) but like 96% of the ones I saw on the road were not and it always made me sad. Mine was, of course, modded but it's not a very popular car to mod even though there is a lot available. You would think a lot more people would be modding the G8 considering it's already a performance sedan but I see a lot more Chargers/300s modded I think...maybe that's cuz there are more of those on the road...

I am on both forums, but now 85-90% of the time here. Keeping mine stock for the most part, May get a axle back system and a CAI, but that will be the extent of it for the next year if at all.

I frequent a couple of forums, only this one for the G8. And I am one of thoses that will stay stock for the most part due to a wife that handles the finances....

So... does this mean we are members of the "Mod Squad"?

Never owned a car I didn't change......

Like I once said long ago, "stock cars are like virgins....they are meant to be tampered with!"

I'm on 5-6 auto forums a day, almost every day. That's when I'm not at work, school or sleeping...........ok sometimes when I'm at school.

Since I got my G8 two weeks ago, I've been addicted to going to these forums. I have learned a lot, been corrupted a little, and now I'm dying to put mods on my G8! :)

I like these forums because there aren't that many people on them. When I had my subaru I used to check out legacygt.com and slcsubaru.com but too many people were on lgt.com and it became no fun. Hopefully this doesn't happen w/ the G8 forums because at least for now we see the different personalities of people and enjoy everyone's character.

My G8 is my first new car and I thought I would do some researching before buying and I ended up here and never left. Now I check it a few times a day:zing:

Yup, modding seems like an addiction I'm getting, not sure what to do next. Even the few things I've dome to it have made a big difference, need more power!

You're asking the individuals who frequent a forum what percentage of owners frequent a forum. :) So your sample set is going to be somewhat... skewed.

That would be one steep bell curve. :)

Obviously I know that as I outlined sample sizes earlier...I was just asking for an opinion because those of us on here understand that not many people do frequent forums.
