Has anyone tried these yet? I have found a couple of places where they are available but haven't seen a single review.

What is the difference? I just bought the 'normal' BC coilovers...should I have waited? :facepalm2:

:search:

There's another thread out there with this exact thread title.

The answer is no, no one has.

The BC Racing ER are basically the BC Racing version of the Pedders Supercars. They have external fluid reservoirs and are adjustable for both compression and rebound. From what I've heard, the outer diameters of the Pedders and BC Racing units are different, though, so they aren't the exact same product.

Sorry raising this from the dead ;)

Did research and found out that the out diameters of the...
Pedders supercar coilover = 52mm
BC racing BR and ER = 53mm

I was sort of hoping someone by now would have gotten these coilovers, but it looks like I'll definitely be the ginipig.

I just haven't had the funds to spring for these OR the Pedders. Surprising that the O.D. of the BC Racing is actually greater. One downside of the ER is that it will still require you to drill through your floorpan in the trunk. Just a heads up.

well i will tell you one thing.

when i had the BC BR series coilovers, i talked with BC-racing NA a lot trying to get new springs. i asked them if pedders where the same thing, which i know they are. they said they couldnt tell me. they did say they sold their old design with smaller strut shafts to "other" companies.

my guess is the same thing was done with the ER. i personally think that BC has a contract with pedders where, bc will not sell thier coilovers for some cars until maybe 2 or 3 years.

personally if i ever do anoher coilover setup, i was not happy with the BC racing BR series, so i removed them

but i want to find a way to do a pillowball front mount. i may end up talking with BC see if i could get a custom coilover setup.

i have the 3 holes drilled in my strut towers from my strut tower brace. if they used the G8 bottom mount from the BR series coilover then you could put any bc racing upper on it as long as you can mount that pillow ball, then you would have a nice camber adjustment too.

also according to the UK site the ER series has a pillow ball mount, i find that hard to believe, cause the supercar coilovers dont, and it would deffently require drilling, which i wouldnt mind, cause i already did it, and the advantage of a pillow ball mount over our design is a lot.

Did you keep the spring rates the same? 7k fronts and 9K rears? I've read a lot of complains just lurking the forums. 8k or 9K fronts and 12K rears are the best sets ups.

i did 7k/9k for a while and the rear was riding bump stops all the time.

then i did 9k/12k and it works right, the rear was acutally adjustable all the way from stock height to tucking, but it was rather rough ride.

i think 8k/10k would be the best setup probably. still i dislike the cheaper coilovers cause they are just way over dampened. set fully soft you cannot even compress the strut at all with all your body weight pushing on them.

Has of now this has been the best and most useful thread I've found for the ER's, but I had to find it on a scooby forum....

Swift springs? Mmmm...
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2214667

I'm thinking that maybe the BCR's just need a better quality spring now to perform at it's best.

http://www.swiftsprings.com/faq01.html

"2. I have a set of coilover on my vehicle, and race at the track occasionally.
I don't want to lower my spring rate, but I want to improve my street driving comfort..

Not to worry, our coilover replacement springs are designed with a super liner characteristic you can change out your springs with the same spring rate and still get a far superior ride quality. Second, by using a lighter weight spring, the transitions from compression to rebound are much quicker, and therefore would enhance the level of ride comfort."

I bet that 8k front and 12K rear is the best set up, but matched with lighter weight springs

Im willing to bet swift doesnt have a rear spring thats fits the g8. Thats why bc-na had to order my spring 12k rear springs direct from overseas. The rear spring on our cars is not used in any other application due to the unique reused top mount in the rear.

I'll just go ahead and talk to BCR and Swift and report back
