View Full Version : Want SEATS!

Of course, I'm not buying anything big at the moment unless it's tires. I need to save up for a house. But I'm sure you're all familiar with this fact: that doesn't keep me from looking and longing.

The stock seats in the GXP are underwhelming. They're comfy, though the leather is a bit hard. But with no support save the foam that fills it, the bolster on the outside of the driver side seat has gotten soft and not as supportive as it once was. For track use, this is especially annoying...

But check these out:

Also available in black leather and red suede. Sport Topline has air-inflatable lumbar support, electric recline/height/tilt adjustment, extendable thigh support, and is heated and cooled!

DO WANT!

I wonder how much effort it would take to make these work in the G8

Dunno. The seat controls/features are self contained, so they would just need power. I don't know that I could integrate the seat heater with what comes with the car, unfortunately. Definitely worth a try.

Seats are $1700 apiece for leather/suede, so they're spendy. But hear tell they're comfy, and they're easily more supportive than our seats. Biggest thing would be the seat rails. Apparently the Commodore's seat rails are wonky. But a few owners have swapped seats. There's a guy on the other board that has Corbeaus.

Here's the shortest and most succinct thread so far: http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48362

No butt heater, no deal :spank:

Just kidding. Those do look nice!

Nah, the seats have the elements and switches, both, built right in. It would be the controls on the dash for the stock seats that might not work.

The panel looks like this. The funky bulb is actually the lumbar pump. You pump it yourself. :)

These definitely look sweet. These fit the bill exactly what we were talking about the other day. You need to get them so I can try them out.

At $3400 for two seats, it'll be a while. Unless you want to, y'know, contribute to my seat fund. :D

For a different car. But I probably wouldn't go that expensive for something I hardly drive.

Ill let you know what I find out.

Wish there was a cheap option for better seats, even if we could get the ones from the Australian market cars for cheap. Shipping sucks... :(
