My wife drove mt G8 GT to work today. She just called me at work and said the DIC shows a picture of the engine with a lightning bolt flashing in the middle of it. Is the car safe for her to drive?? Do you know what this means?
Thanks,

It is your engine light, it comes up with the classic little light on the left of your tach as well as in the screen with a lightning bolt. Just take it to your dealer to have them read the codes. If you want to get it out of the screen just hit the enter button on your steering wheel.
It's A G8!

you can also call OnStar and they can sometimes give you a vague idea of what the problem may be. My suggestion is take the gas cap off and put it back on. It seems the gas cap problem is pretty frequent on new G8's. Good luck

Thanks guys!!
I had Onstar run a diagnostic and it turned that the gas cap was just loose.
I tightened it and started the car and the light went off in about 30 seconds
